It takes skill, psychology, math, and discipline. Do you think poker deserves full "mind sport" status?

I would consider poker a “full” mind sport if luck wasn’t a factor.

Of course! Poker has several characteristics that make it a mental sport. Concentration. Self-control. Strategy. Calculating probabilities.

Poker should be considered a mind sport because long-term success depends on strategy, psychology, probability, and emotional control, not luck. Like chess, it requires deep thinking, concentration, and skill.

Yes, while luck determines the cards, a player's skill lies in managing uncertainty, reading opponents, controlling emotions, and making the most mathematically advantageous decisions in the long run.

Yes — poker is now officially recognized as a mind sport, joining chess, bridge, Go, and others. This recognition highlights poker’s reliance on strategy, mental skill, and decision-making rather than pure luck.

Poker is definitely on par with chess; you constantly need to think through strategies and the right moves in every hand. It's no wonder poker is officially recognized as a sport in many countries. However, psychology plays a significant role.

Yes, because there’s some different type of play like if you want to know if someone’s bluffing you
