The first time playing live Texas Hold'em at a casino was in a single table tournament...I was nervous that I would be the first knocked out, so I played conservatively until two players were eliminated in one hand...I went from 10th out of ten to eighth out of eight. The very next hand I got pocket 7s and shoved all in against two players...my 7s held and I was in second place after that hand...pocket 7s are my "MUST PLAY" hand...BTW...I ended up winning the tournament for $700...some 20 years later, that is still my biggest poker score.

Mine’s J9 suited—looks pretty, plays ugly, and somehow I still convince myself “this time it’ll hit.”

I probably miss something here but I do not have any "lucky" or "favorite" cards. In poker i just believe in math, hands reading, strategy and such trivial things. Ofc I prefer good cards to weak ones, like AA are the strongest etc. But it is also trivial

I'm not emotionally attached to certain cards — they're all the same until the flop hits my hand.
But still, pocket pairs in 3-bet pots can make a lot of money when they hit, especially against maniacs.

And recently, either yesterday or the day before, I finally realized the true power of AQ.
In a JackpotPoker tournament, I bet players 7 times, and 4 of them were with AQ.

When it comes to “love”, these are definitely the right connectors for me — they can hit both flash and street, and sometimes even both at once.
And, of course, pocket pairs that can be turned into a kit. I love sets 🤤

But loving postcards is like loving a prostitute — you can't really love them.
At the most important moment, they can betray you.

It's better to love the connection between cards and the board — synchronicity, the moment when everything lines up.
