It’s the highest cash for the 31-year-old from Madrid, making his third Triton title extra, extra special.

“Right now I’m pretty happy,” Mateos told Triton reporters after the match ended. “These tournaments are super special for me and I always come super motivated to play these Invitationals. It feels amazing to win the third title and one of these huge tournaments.”

A motivated Mateos should scare every high-roller within earshot because there’s no doubt he’s one of the best working in the nose-bleed arenas around the world. This is his fourteenth cash worth a million dollars or more. Hell, it’s his fourth million dollar cash that started with a three. Two of those came with his two Triton trophies.

As well as Mateos plays, he needed a ton of luck to win this one. With eight players left, he found himself all-in with AT against Maher Nouira’s pocket tens. With four cards on the board, it looked like Mateos would have to settle for the $797,000 that came by existing in that spot.

Yep, you guessed it. An ace fell on the river to keep his butt in the chair, and he was off and running.

The Invitational attracted 137 entrants who built a prize pool of $27,400,000. The top 20 cashed and included Alex Foxen (20th for $345,000), his wife Kristen (16th for $384,000), Jason Koon (13th for $466,000), and Danilo Velasevic, who missed the final. table by one, but still cashed $534,000.

The final table, as in all the Triton events, was filled with a table of killers, and they all were going for a huge top prize. The difference between ninth and first was more than $6 million and six players would walk to the cage with a ticket wort at least $1 million.

This was the tenth cash of 2026 for Mateos but his first victory. He came close to winning a European Poker Tour title earlier this month by making three final tables, but stalled in fifth, fourth and third in all of them. The third-place finish came in the €50,000 high-roller event and was worth $382,969.

Don’t be surprised if Mateos wins his fifth World Series of Poker bracelet in the next few months. And if he keeps going like everyone knows he can, he will be one of the front runners for the Poker Hall of Fame — in nine years when he turns 40.

Final Table Results of the Triton Super High Roller Series Montenegro $200,000 Invitational

Place

Player

Payout

1

Adrian Mateos

$6,370,000

2

Alexey Lozuyk

$4,316,000

3

Ben Heath

$2,877,000

4

Andre Berg

$2,357,000

5

Anatoly Zlotnikov

$1,890,000

6

Maher Nouira

$1,466,000

7

Kiat Lee

$1,085,000

8

Eelis Parssinen

$797,000

9

Isaac Haxton

$635,000

Sometimes, it’s just in the cards, and it sure seems that way for Adrian Mateos, the $60 million man from Spain.
