Would you guys think I'm missing out on a ton of money by not playing on the euro tables at pokerstars ? (5NL 6max)

it's never a ton of money at 5nl.

And besides, the point of 5nl is not to make money, it's to improve your game so that you become good enough to move up. Focusing on anything but improving your game until you reach at least 50nl is just plain wrong.

Yeah, it's pretty amazing. He runs at nearly 4ptbb/100 while playing a huge volume. If there's no chip dumping whatsoever going on (don't know him so no clue), it's a pretty amazing feat.

Well, Zach also destroyed his prop bet when he did it earlier. I think a large part of the reason this happens is that with so much money at stake, and by playing so much poker for a while, these players actually improve their ability to beat that very specific game they focus on.

I've been following that, so sick how he can have 14buyin day after 14buyin day. He's obviously really sick but really he just seems really really solid too. When he posts hands they aren't CRAI bluffs, they're bet, bet, shove with a set. I'm not suggesting he never makes plays, just that the people that make the most money are the ones that make few mistakes and not necessarily the light 3bettors or whatever that you find hard to play against.

Well no other suggestions huh? That's cool. Ill just smash that one at 2pm today cuz thats how I ****ing roll. Not really. Running about as bad as FX is, just in tourney mode rather than cash mode. But I just keep trying to have the same mindset and good attitude. Hasn't worked in the last three days. Lets see if it turns around today. Pretty sick and its really really hurting to cough still. Sneezing is still ****ing terrifying to say the least.

Nice talking to u last night for a few minutes WV. Got a conference with Mariah's teacher today. All A's on her report card, but there is a few behavioral comments that I want to touch base with her teacher on. Then I'll be touching base on them with the little princess.

Also my son has hit the terrible two's. Not really a big deal except that hes insistent on every tv in the house MUST have his shows on when he's in the room. If there not, watch out cuz he absolutely loses it.

Good day to u my peeps. Anyone wanna throw another MTT suggestion in for this afternoon please feel free!

So today is a pretty significant day for me.
Over the years I have ran up quite large sums of debt. Credit cards here, loans there. You know how it is you get married, have kids (not necessarily in that order) and outgoings just keep escalating. Well over a period of 20 years, I managed to run up my debt to a high of ~£40k (hit this milestone about 3 years ago). This peak didnt even include my mortgage ffs!

Over those years I had countless consolidation loans, only to build it back up rinse and repeat. Living each month with your wages being paid in the bank, then literally the next day you had no money left which was very draining to say the least and dare I say it, I think I was literally days away from declaring myself bankrupt.

Anyway, I found poker and I built up my roll slowly to a point were I was actually drawing a regular income of over $1k/month. This helped massively and over a the last 3 years I have reduced my debt to a more manageable level ~£18k. OFC nothing lasts forever, and the poker money has dried up considerably and now Im struggling to make ends meet at the end of every month.

That was until today!

I have now re-mortgaged my house and paid all my remaining debt off. I have an affordable mortgage and now have a considerable amount of money left over every month. This feels like a fresh start, and my advice to you younger guys...... don;t fall into the trap of credit cards and loans as it really ****s with your life. Its so easy to get one loan after another and before you know it your miserable as sin.

Good for you Jay. I can so relate to this (except for poker being a supplemental income for me...lol). That last bit to the youngsters really can't be said enough (even though they probably won't listen, I hope they will). Must be a load off your mind! We're working to refinance our house right now, but honestly it's been such a nightmare with the mortgage company, I'm about to tell them to take this house and shove it as far up their collective asses as it will go. Ok, so I won't really do that, but UGH. Will be happy when it's sorted. So, happy to hear that at least someone out there is getting relief! :)

Hey Jag if it makes you feel better some of us youngsters learned early. We have one credit card for emergencies and only one loan. Eventually we will get a house but right now the only loan I have is for my Harley. I got that because the payment is cheap enough to make it affordable and its helping to build our credit.

Real happy to see you got out from underneath your bills. Good to hear

Off to talk to the princess's teacher. Should be fun.

I do have a suggestion: don't play donkaments. Use your $$$ to get your leg waxed, it will be significantly less painful.

Congrats Jay. I've seen debt ruin my older brothers life and now how important it is to avoid it. I owe the government quite a bit for university and have an interest free overdraft with my bank, but I will never ever get a credit card nor a loan except for a mortgage. Now concentrate on winning again :)
