Suitedness is definitely a factor in more spots than described at the fringes of your range, but yeah, "I haz sooted" is way too liberally used as an excuse to play.
Why look to literature that isn't directed at your game though? There are a plethora of NLHE books out there that will apply without needing to add translation to your labors.
Though, actually if the games are still as limpy passive preflop and super cally passive postflop as they were when I was working through 2 and 5nl, I played preflop just like I did at live fishy pokerboom LHE. Like 25/3, and 25BB/100 and 15BB/100 respectively isn't a bad result IMO.
1) Sit deep with other deep fools
2) Aggressively barrel in, even overbet shoving river with nuts
3) Learn how to play poker more for realer when you hit 25nl
Of course it could be my perception but most of the 5nl games I am in are anything but 'limpy-passive'. I see plenty of 3betting and some squeezing. Maybe @ 2nl you can limp UTG with 44 or 76s bt @ 5nl you'll likely get squeezed.
I think the thing I want to focus on is; when you are OOP and cannot control the size of the pot and don't have alot of fold equity can you profitably draw to Flushes/ Straights?
IMO, under these conditions (OOP, no FE) the answer is: No.
