Did you just get lucky, or are you actually good?

Well, i didn't get question, but i'd say rarely everyone just get lucky, it is normal if you gamble for bounties with trash hand.

A player can run like a god for a week and look unbeatable… or run like a disaster and look clueless.
I think a majority of players over estimate their skill level and fool themselves into thinking their poor decisions were/are correct when running like the sun.

This is a classic question about the intersection of luck and personality; the answer depends on how a person evaluates their actions and circumstances, but often "luck" comes from those who prepared, took action, and persevered, while "goodness" is associated with skill and character. Often, luck is when preparation meets opportunity.

Luck is fleeting; some days it's with me, and other days it abandons me. In the long run, it's important not to depend on luck.

Luck can't always help, there will be no victories without experience and skills.

I've been playing poker for over 10 years, but I don't consider myself a good player. Sometimes I get lucky and win, but those wins aren't due to my skills. To be more precise, my skills aren't bad, but I have problems with discipline, and that ruins my statistics.

A player can calculate probabilities, read opponents and look smart in sunglasses indoors, but luck is still needed. Poker is actually a philosophical experience. It teaches humility, patience and the fact that sometimes the best decision is still the wrong one.

I would say that I am not lucky enough to call myself a lucky player and I definitely cannot call myself skilled :ROFLMAO:

True, but even the best poker pros acknowledge that you need some luck to win a big tournament…might be just one huge coin flip at a crucial time.

It's good to have both, especially if you're playing in an important tournament. But it's better to be a good player; it will give you better results.

Perhaps luck has a little influence, but in reality what counts is the skill, and the cunning of a player.

I would like to think that I am that good, but in reality, without luck, I would not have achieved the results that I have. Skills, experience, patience and discipline are all definitely very important factors, but if luck is not on your side, nothing will help you.

I’ve had a few small results in MTTs, and at micro stakes I think I might have a slight edge there. In cash games, though, I relied mostly on luck and good cards so far. I’ve only recently started to work on my game more seriously, so results won’t depend just on running good, but on better decisions too.

Luck decides who wins today. Skill decides who wins in 1, 5, or 10 years. Poker is a game of skill disguised as a game of chance.

if you know the odds of winning before you bet, you are better off for it. therefore, its not luck, it is skill
