After losing a few silly hands due to fatigue while playing poker, I decided to always do two things: if I'm tired, I don't play, and if I get tired over time playing, I take a break, but I never continue playing when I'm tired.

I’ve noticed that when I’m tired, my poker decisions get way worse.
I start calling more, bluffing in bad spots, and missing obvious value bets.
Sometimes I tell myself “just one quick session” and it turns into donating chips 😅
Do you avoid playing when you’re tired, or do you think experience can compensate for low energy?
Curious how others handle this.
When you’re fresh, you play with your brain & heart! 🤑
When you’re tired, you just play with your fingers absentmindedly! 🫩🥴

Yes, but my tired is usually the start of a session when coffee makes me feel better through the game, so I get better xD

Of course, as a person gets tired, the robot emerges.
Creativity is lacking, decisions are made more difficult, and mistakes are made more often.

100% I play differently if I’m tired. It’s just like reading a book or playing a sport when you’re tired. You lose focus, attention to detail, and become impatient and lazy

I dont play when i am tired as much these days, experience has taught me that much, that said, i did indulge over xmas into late Jan but work has taken over now so i prioritise that.
No doubt - my play suffers when tired, long gone are my younger days of staying up late on what was then full tilt poker - you cannot burn that candle at both ends indefinitely!

Oh yeah, and honestly, everyone does, even if they don’t notice it right away.
When you’re tired, your poker changes in sneaky ways:
You stop thinking in ranges and start thinking in feelings.
You call when you should fold.
You bluff when you shouldn’t.
You miss obvious spots.
You get impatient… and impatience is expensive.
Fatigue doesn’t just make you play worse it makes you play looser, slower, and more emotional.
The scary part?
You still feel like you’re playing normal.
That’s why the best players treat rest like part of the strategy.
Sometimes the strongest move isn’t all-in…
It’s logging off.

Personally, when I get tired, I often go all-in with a weak hand. If I win, I continue playing normally; if I lose, I go do something else.

Fatigue reduces cognitive ability, resulting in more predictable, less profitable, and often tilt-based play.Personally, when I'm tired, I never play, it's a waste of time and money.

I don't start playing if I'm tired. In general, I don't feel very tired after work, but it's difficult for me to find time to play, so I actually only play on weekends. On weekdays, when I come home after work, I can play cash games for 20-30 minutes.

If I'm tired, I avoid playing because my moves will be wrong; it's better to stop and play again later.

Obviously the quality of decision making decline, if we are tired. Its many things including missing previous action when multitabling. Like maybe we think, it folded to us, but someone already limped. If I feel tired or notice, I am making such mistakes, I stop adding more tournaments. Even playing less tables can help quite a bit.

Fatigue also comes with irritability, so it's natural that people play differently.
It's not advisable, because it won't end well anyway.

I definitely play differently when I'm tired, and usually not in a good way. My biggest issue is that my 'patience threshold' drops significantly

playing tired is rarely a good thing, it leads to playing hopefully and to quick exits
