pot odds calculation question

Hi,

At the moment on a flop I have been only counting the next drawing card because there is still another round of betting on the turn to see the river.

so bet 50 for 100 is 50/150 you need 33% to call to profitably see the next hand.

so if its flush draw I would do 9 outs x 2 which would be 18% chance to hit so I would usually not call unless they haven't bet and I'm in position and I will 1/2 pot bet semi bluff.

but someone said its counted to the river so 9 outs x 4 would be 36%? so I should be calling larger bets, but I don't get how this is correct when there is another round of betting before you get to the river?

The basic 4/2 rule goes in a way that when two cards are still to come you'll use 4 as the multiplier, and when only one card is left to come you'll use 2.

But, if you have already decided on the flop that you will see only the turn card and then fold if necessary, then it's just fine to use 2 as your multiplier.

If the pot is 100 and it’s on you to call a 50 bet then yes you are putting in 33% of the pot at this time on the flop. There are two more rounds of betting, each you will have around 20%. If you get to see both turn and river without paying then on the flop you will have 36-40%. So say you were all in and now you will be guaranteed to see both cards then you can realize your full equity.
Remember that if you hit your flush you do have some implied odds, so that will help calling a bet like that on the flop.
Learn the rule of 4 and 2 and this will help you. Also remember to look for other outs along with your flush to help get your equity up higher. Like if one of your two cards pair and you can win then you can add more outs. Or if you have the straight and flush working for you then you will have lots of ways to win.

Just an observation:

This would mean that you have two suited cards in your hand and one on flop OR vice versa. So you would need two cards to your flush.

No i mean i have 2 hearts in hand and 2 hearts on flop

Am I timesing 9 outs by 2 or by 4 to see the turn?

I miscalculated my hearts
But like I said, if you are only going to see the turn then using 2 is okay. If you are going to see also the river card, use 4 before turn, and 2 before river.

Use 2 for each betting round. From flop to turn use 2. From turn to river use 2.

Use 4 on the flop only if you are going to see the river, like being all in.

Basically use 2 and you won’t go wrong. If you have a hand worth going all in on the flop, you can now use 4 because you’re going to get your 18-20% twice, once on the turn and once on the River. So 20% twice is 40%.
