Many poker players have experienced that mental state of frustration where they start playing poorly after a bad beat or a rough streak. We call this Tilt.
Interestingly, I recently found out the term actually comes from old pinball machines. When a player got upset and tried to shake the machine to control the ball, the system would lock up and display the word TILT on the screen, ending the play. kkkkk
In poker, it seems to be iminent sometimes, but tilting is never good profiting: when emotions take over, we “lock up” our rational thinking and often lose more chips than we should.
👉 Question: what are your strategies to avoid tilt during a long session?
