In the $50k Players Championship, it was a great accomplishment... however (lol) if you were to watch the commentary by Blez, you'd see many spots where he said Michael had played a hand poorly. And in the Main Event, I'd suggest the same, 'although' his style of play was great at putting pressure on certain players (even if he did get VERY VERY lucky in the Main Event). Some players who I had the opportunity to listen in on their breakdown of the
hands, agreed that Michael's play style was something you'd expect back in 2010.
I don't expect we'll ever see someone repeat what Michael did this year.
Personally I was more impressed with what Shiina Okamoto did by not only winning the WSOP Ladies Championship this year, but to actually have won it last year (and the year prior to have placed 2nd when she was fairly new to poker!).
Or what Jungleman did (Dan Cates). A guy who doesn't even play Tournaments. After placing in 6th in the Players Championship in 2019 he won it back-to-back in 2021 & 2022 (while being 'in character' for the entire thing as the Macho man)
