I decided to change up my routine, tonight, and go to the Texas Card House in Austin for a $2K GTD NLH/PLO mix-game for $100. I managed to snag a cool $330 for 5th in an ICM chop. But while I was there the bad-beat jackpot was hit at a different club venue for the above figure. The really cool aspect of it was that all players at all the clubs at any table received a cool $100. Fk yeah! That increased my take to $430. Needless to say, I'm going back in a couple of days.
I recommend any players in the area head on over and take advantage of the offers at hand. They also have a live stream 3 or 4 days out of the week for those who don't mind showing how they play. I think it's a 5/10 or 10/25 NLH table w/bomb-pots.

Thanx Shells. I'm going back tomorrow night for another $2K GTD NLH. So far, it's been only 22-27 players which is fine, kinda like a sng. It's fun and the table banter is non-threatening, lol. Easy going folk. Easier $... Second cash in 3 games there. Hope all is well on your side of the felt. GL. ;)

Nice :)

I have checked out their live stream, it is pretty good..except the one commentator kept saying chips and call-sa lol 😂 wait no I think that was the other place up the roads live-stream lol Sorry

I don’t mind playing in the Austin city limits, I should get out and play more locally, just Vegas trips are so cheap and like to keep any form of gambling in Vegas personally.

That, and I think you can agree the recreational field in Vegas is super soft, I can walk away with easy money (from rec games) in Vegas, playing locally in Austin is like a whole other level of serious card play at the recreational buy in lol

Yeah, it can get a little serious around here. But that's how I like it, I guess. That seems to be the way I approach the game of the day; if most of the players at the table are goofing around and playing every pot then I'll tighten up and play ABC poker. If everyone's serious and tight then I'll go the other way and open my range a bit. It seems to work. I finally took one down the other night over there. We made a deal when it got to 6 and paid 5 players 600 and 1st took 1K. Lucky me... WOO HOO! Anyways, I'm gonna go back there on Wednesdays and Saturdays for sure. Maybe not this Saturday because there's a Circuit Ring Event at another room nearby. Greg "Fossilman" Raymer is going to be there, I think? It's in Georgetown just up the road from Austin/Round Rock if anyone wants to come check it out.

I haven't had time but have you been to Shuffle 512 yet? Not to de-rail your thread, just always curious of the best places to go. I have been to Austin Poker Palace, which changed their name to Palms Social, which changed name to Red Star Social? I think? I am not sure lol. I liked it when I went a couple years ago, but just wasn't enough people playing tourneys when I went then.

That is another thing, Vegas just has a buffet of tourneys, so if I bust out, I can just uber (or walk) to another place and hop in another tourney. I think that is the biggest draw I have for going to Vegas, that and its just easier to make money at the rec level of tourneys overall.

Best of Luck!

Thanx man. I plan on going to Vegas, eventually, but for now I'll continue to do the grind down the road.
To answer your question, no, I haven't been to Shuffle 512 yet. It's located in south Austin, and I come in from the north end so it' almost another hour to get there, and I don't have to tell you about the traffic from Georgetown thru to Budda. It's fkng horrendous. One of these days I'm gonna make it down there to the south side. I actually do like the vibe in south Austin. South Lamar and that whole Barton Spring area is beautiful and the people there are cool as can be.

Right on man, I have a long history of living in and out of Williamson county, I know times have changed, but whatever you do, just be squeeky clean when you go there, don't even think twice about not having your seatbelt on while driving. It is the worst place in the world to ever get pulled over doing anything wrong (even having a dirty license plate), and if you have any kind of anything that is illegal on you, consider yourself going to prison for life if pulled over. I have a bartender friend that won't even bring goldcshlauger through there (just because of how twisted it can get). At least, that is how it has been for most of my life lol. Now I know it has recently turned blue and is no longer a complete mess, but I still just have to warn of how ridiculous its past has been. That is the only reason I don't play poker there, the long history of insane corrupt Williamson county. It may be close to Austin, but it is/was/and probably still is in many ways the exact opposite!

TX Card house on research/183 is now within the Austin City limits, (Back in the day that area was within Wilco), at the Taco Cabanna and Jim’s restaurant (up the road) near there, I used to get hassled by Wilco all the time when it was their district lol That was a long time ago though, The city limits got pushed forward and wilco got pushed out, I have plenty of stories of crazy Wilco, but that is a long time ago and is all irrelevant now.
