The more that I have played 6, 8 and 9 tables. the more I like the 9 persons tables for tournaments. I tend to be more conservative, and I think 6 persons tables favor the aggressor more.

I sort of like full tables more, maybe because I have a tight style in tournaments I usually do well when blinds are lower as well. I think 6 handed is better for people who are use to playing alot of hands.

I also prefer 6 handed games . There's always more action and its easier to make money and put your opponents on proper ranges then in full ring . Also you get called more often then in full rings and find yourself in better spots when you actutally have it . And you also avoid their hands more easily if you miss , and dont get too much in trouble if you bluff . Maybe its just me , idk :)

I think the fewer players at a table, the easier it will be for you to analyze each other's play and style of play.

the advantage of 6 handed is that you can more easily focus on reading the players while with full ring you have to give more attention and it can be confusing

that being said i still prefer 9 handed especially in cash games because 6 handed cash games have less action

I agree. Both have their pros and cons.

6 max means you get more hands per hour, but are in the blinds more. For MTT this is bad for me, due to the fact it's hard to control you chipstack. In a cash (ring) game, it allows you to read the players better -- notice things faster (if you're not distracted)

8 or 9 full (depending on the poker room) is great for MTT. The blinds come around less often, and you can afford to wait for premium hands, or higher-range hands. Since it would be hard to get reads on opponents, it does mean you can distract yourself by watching YT or be on tiktok or any social media site while waiting.

I do not feel much difference between 6 or 9 people at the table, I am comfortable playing in any.

I prefer 6-max there is a more dynamic game and this format is more suitable for my style, but of course it's all individual

I used to prefer 9 handed, but the longer I play, the more I enjoy the action of 6 handed games.

On 6 player tables you have to pay 50% more blinds. Effectively, they are draining your stack compared to 9 player tables.

If you want the feeling of a 6 player table (I guess it's the higher betting frequency), you simply have to play two 9 player tables. Then you have even more action on average.

I don't really bother about how many players are at the table.

As a lot of the big prize tournaments are full ring, the other table sizes prepare you for playing seat empty and final tables.

I like 6 max for cash games, but 9 handed for tournaments. More action in cash games and more waiting for a premium hand in tournaments.

Hello

they are very different tables to play, personally I think you have to adapt since in a table of 9 there are 6 less cards in the deck in the table of 6 players each hand has more outs or odds to combine or for me to combine you I have played in both and also zoom and it is totally different currently I play in tables of 9 :D

I prefer 6 handed. As I feel it’s easier to try to read people.

I play 6-max tables. Standard tables for 9 players are too boring. You have to play a small number of hands.

I prefer 6 max because there are usually less players postflop and additionally there is more action than at full ring tables because you don't have to play as tight.

I prefer full table (9 preferably), but 6 seems to be more popular as almost everything seems to be 6 player these days. ^ might be better I suppose for reducing opponents in hands like AK, etc. Full ring gives better returns when lots of small callers for things like flush/str8? Either way, I find a full table more relaxed and that's my main reason for the preference.

Because I play in late registration tournaments registering 30 seconds-1 minute before late registration closes I prefer full table.

The extra players at the table is an opportunity to find more low stack players and to force them on to a bigger blind to possibly get them eliminated to get me closer to the money.

Also at 6 handed Im getting hit with big and small blinds too often and my chip stack is dwindling!
