Playing poker with external variance: Welcome to hardcore mode

In Venezuela, each online poker session is a double bet: one against the opponents and the other against the light. Yesterday I was in the bubble and boom! My power went out. I don't know if it was more foolish to lose my hand or imagine that I could have won. Does anyone else play with this kind of “external variance”? Sometimes I feel that surviving here is part of mental training.
