Hello everyone, I want to earn from 100-300 dollars a month playing poker, I have experience, how much would you advise to invest and what to play? cash games or tournaments ? how to reach income from 100-300 dollars?:angel:

To regularly earn that money my guess would be small or mid stakes and with a bankroll of $5,000-$10,000 to be safe, $2,500-$5,000 at a push..? :dontknow:

To be honest, I'm just arbitrarily pulling those numbers out of the sky and the honest answer is 'I don't know'. :laugh:

A micro stakes crusher can earn that monthly I'm pretty sure, but they would need to crush consistently though!

You can win that money taking down a single $1.10 or $2.20 MTT at Stars easy... :wink:

Not sure about equivalent tourneys on other platform but will be venturing out there and hopefully finding out soon! :smile:

To be honest, you yourself should know at what tables or what tournaments you are best able to play. That's where you play. Pick your own limits. At what limits it is more comfortable to play those and take them.

As stated above, you definitely have to decide for yourself what levels to play and whether cash/tournaments etc.

Look, this is very particular to each player. But in the micro limits you can easily earn this monthly by adopting a good volume. As the field of micros is low and you have experiences it is even easier to beat.
To play these limits, you don't need a bankroll that high

If your skill is sufficient, you do not need a bankroll to earn this amount. There are enough freerolls through CardsChat for a good player to earn this amount each month.

Many streamers on twitch give away bankroll builders and entries into tournaments. I have found this a good way to increase my bankroll, perhaps you could benefit from it as well.

You would have to determine for yourself whether to play cash or tournaments. Only you would know with which one you have better results.

To be honest I think you numbers of 100 to 300 a month are reasonable. The really question would be and you really a winning player. That is something you will know or would have to really look into to to know.

What to play, to be honest that would be up to you but I would play what you enjoy most. Cash is small wins and losses every day but you can win more consistently. Tournament poke you can win a lot faster but the variance is much higher. Also the more entry's in the tournament the higher the variance.

As for the dollar amount I am not really sure so I wont guess there.

It doesn't really matter which mode you play in. But I advise you to play just one. Or play cash or MTT. I would particularly play MTTs.
The second step is to adjust your game strategy to the format you are playing. Cash and tournaments have different structures and we cannot play both in the same way. That's why I recommend playing only one modality.
The third step is to better define what you want. 100~300 is a very large range. I suggest $150..
Fourth step: define how many days per month you will play. (remember that on the days you are going to play you must have at least 4 hours available).
Fifth step: set a daily goal (example: $150/month, 20 days/month = $7.50 day.). Before I'm burned alive I'll explain: I don't mean that when you hit $7.50 you should get up and walk away. But try to separate that money daily as often as possible. Example: if you hit $10, drop your target and start over with the remaining $2.50. This way you will have your goal protected, because Poker is a cruel game with those who are greedy. What you earn with that $2.50 is also on target. There will be days when you need some fat to burn.
Sixth step: Initial bankroll: 20 buy-ins of the format you intend to play I think is enough. Now, you said to be experienced. If you're good enough, start your bankroll from scratch here in cardschat freerolls.

if you can make that kind of money per month, you can play in nl2 and tournaments up to 2 dollars, every day you have to play, but always selecting the tables, if you do things right the results will come, you can start with 50 dollars.

I played what you feel good about, don't go under the illusion that tournament or cash or sng is good, because it's not clear if you feel better in MTTs, play MTTs, now if you like Sng, play Sng , everything goes from personality of the person with the games, there are people who win money every day at the PokerStars Casino!

As you haven't directly responded, please allow me to ask some follow up questions:

What kind of poker experience do you have?

How much success have you had with poker previously?

Was it live or online?

How long ago?

What budget do you have disposable for your poker bankroll?

How much cash/tournament poker have you played?

Until you answer these questions, my only advice to you would be to build your bankroll from nothing via CC freerolls and take it from there! :wink:

Maybe with multi-table S&Gs and tight bankroll management, cash games may be suitable for this in addition to satellites to one or two more serious tournaments (because the potential for big winnings is here).

It doesn't matter if you play a million hands a month..if you aren't profitable you will never make more than $0. Focus on seeing what you are profitable playing first. I would advise no matter how big the bankroll to prove to yourself you can win at each level before moving up.

Example: just because you can afford to play a $1000 buy in game....doesn't mean you should.

Believe it or not the game I am most profitable (percentage wise) at is $0.25/$0.50 and $0.01/$0.02...... everything in between is a mixed bag of nuts. These aren't guesses of mine I have tracking software that tells me these things.

I like the idea of 10,000 BB's in your bankroll to play a stakes. So for $0.01/$0.02...minimum $200. for $0.05/$0.10....I'd have $1000. As far as how much you can make? Anything over 0 BB/100 is pretty great.

95% of poker players lose money longterm no matter what they say. I think if you can grind out 5 BB/100 at $0.05/$0.10 you would make $5.00 per 1000 hands you play. Or $50 per 10,000 hands you play or.....to hit near your goal $250 per 50,000 hands you play.

As Tracid say, if winning 100-300 dollars per month from poker was realistic for you, then you would already know, how to do it, and not need to ask in a forum. So rather than setting a specific earning target you need to get experience and then develop a plan and strategy based on that experience. Best of luck with the journey.

First of all, and this is crucial, how much do you feel comfortable losing? I know this sounds like a trick question but it's important to your "playing limit". Figure out how much $ you don't mind sitting down with and go from there. Once you've got that detail figured out might I suggest playing sit-n-go's for $1-$5 a game. It will be easy to make, at least, $5-$25 a day, $25-$75 a week, $100- $300 a month, etc. Depending on what site you play on will determine what kind of sng's are available. Bet Online/Sportsbook have double-up sng's; ACR does not. Although, ACR has mtt sng's and a lot more traffic compared to BOL/SB. Also, if your ring-game "game" is up to par then all you really have to do is sit down at a table w/$5 and double that up and move on to the next table. When the mood strikes go ahead and enter a small buy-in tourney and take a shot at a little more. Soon you'll have your target amount. GL.

Start from the lowest stakes cash games and grind your way up.

It takes a lot of effort and time to level up the nanostakes. You need to put a lot of volume.
