I am new to WPT Global. Yesterday I was shocked - I just discovered there is such an option: When each hand ends, you can click the "Reaveal hands" button, paying a small fee and see the whole cards of every player.

Well, my first impression was: how is it possible? Is it legal? Isn't it against general poker rules? After a while, I am not so surprised anymore - noone can punish WPT for such a thing, the only possibility they could give it up would be if they noticed players do not like it, which is probably not the case. It costs them nothing, they make some extra profit... In my opionion it spoils the game, but who am I to decide?

What do you think?

BTW question to those who play WPT Global longer - is this option there for a long time, or is it something new?

Of course it opens a lot possibilities we normally do not have, to gather data about players - their bluffs, opening ranges, c-bet ranges, call to c-bet ranges, 3-bet ranges etc etc. You just need to pay for it. Not that I am going to do it, I would rather choose another room, than pay additional rake. But others can decide to do it... This is really crazy

I think it's a very bad option, because players have more ways of analyzing their rivals' moves, knowing when they bluff, and that shouldn't be allowed.

I haven't seen that option yet. But yes, it's terrible for the game. It doesn't make sense. I mean, it's just for them, profiting off of it.

If this is really true then they should distribute that fee among the player at the table who had to show their cards.

If wpt just collects that fee then this is a complete joke imo.

Anyone surprise after this? :

And yes, it gives information about other players, but since you’re not even allowed to tag anyone or review previous hand history, it doesn’t change much unless you play often with the same person in particular and recognize them, which is pretty rare at micro stakes

my opinion is that all these Apps where you play for real money must have rules as on real money table
and should be option if anyone wanna see my cards to pay me directly lol

I can't agree here. After playing for some time at microstakes on GG I meet the same players every day. I have a lot of notes about them. However, these notes are compiled based on my own experience with them - playing and observing, not by paying to the site for revealing their cards...

Exactly my opinion about it. Imagine at life table, after you won the hand with a bluff (or not bluff) - but the opponent folded - and the villain pays the dealer, for revealing your hand... Here, at WPT, you do not even know when they do it.

Well, maybe if you’re playing some small micro tourneys, but often there are literally thousands of players in the field, so you’ll probably run into some but not in every game for sure. WPT doesn’t even offer tagging or notes, so you’ll have to rely on memory to remember that guy who tried to bluff you with 7-2 after you opened his hand with fees

... you are correct, it's against the basic rules of poker....

poker is a game of incomplete information,

selling players the info they should have to pay

the player in the hand to see is absurd👎

I play cash, 9-max. Yes, there are many people and many tables. But, believe me (or not ;)) - at every table I play there are usually 1 to 3 ppl (sometimes more) I know from previous games. Some of them I already remember, so I have no need to look into the notes. Yes, of course, GG interface makes it easy - you can click on the player and make notes. There is no such possibility on WPT, but is the tool to make notes really such an issue here? I am sure a pro or semi-pro grinder at WPT has the tool for it.
