Carbon's free Odds Calculator "unfair"? Gimme a break!

The only thing it has been doing to help me is once it has seen enough hands if I agree with what it is telling me about someones play I tag them so next time I sit down with a player I already have tagged it lets me have a slight advantage

HUDs ruin a great game

That's the truth folks Texas Holdem was designed to be game combining skill and randomness and it was designed well and then along came the opportunists and the companies supporting these people of low talent and the attraction for the gambler diminished so these cheating tards can turn there cogs against each other until the cows come home because all the gamblers are busy losing there cash in more random forms of gambling. In short HUD's allows simpletons to have the ability of rainman but they wouldn't let rainman into a casino would they and you can't use handheld devices in casino's or at live poker games can you, THAT'S BECAUSE IT RUINS A GOOD GAME AND ALLOWS PEOPLE AN UNNATURAL ADVANTAGE AND THAT IN ANY MAN'S LANGUAGE IS CHEATING.

At risk of perpetuating an ancient thread bump on a silly topic...

...you actually could keep stats in a live game just the same as an online HUD if you wanted to. Pretty sure there's even smartphone Apps for it. The average live player is so bad that there's not much point, but it's still something you can do.

You can record stats but you can't use handheld computers at live poker games or in casino's where a lot of live games are held.
The HUD has ruined the purity of online poker if there even was anything to ruin in the first place, think about it the big online poker giants only allowed HUD's to increase the attractiveness for your multi table player which raises another interesting point, why do multi table player's get an edge? you may not believe they do but it hasn't been my experience, i believe it's because there good turnover men for big poker sites and lets give em rainman abilities that should bring the flies around the turd more flies mean more turnover flyboy

Typical HUD ignorance spoken by someone who has never used one and obviously doesn't understand what they do and how they're used. Also typical live player mentality that doesn't comprehend the differences between live and online poker and how each has their own tools available to them.

Also, we'd prefer you avoid bumping threads over a year old without very good reason.

What's this we? what you and your friends with your HUD's, i would prefer it if you didn't read threads more than a year old or just detach the chatbox, HUD's are not needed to play 1 sit and go but if you want to multi table or play in a torny then you better pony up join the talentless hacks and cheats and feed the turnover, Greed and opportunism destroyed what was a good online game, it's a girls game now you need your sparkly little trinkets to compensate for your lack of natural talent and poor memory then your a little girl.

Honestly, I think HUDs are pretty much pointless beyond style tracking. It's nice to see someone's raise percentage, limp percentage, and how often they call all of the way down/win percentage. As said above, people who complain are just people who don't know how to read the numbers properly. Not to mention, people who complain are my favorite kind of people anyway because if they complain then they obviously don't understand the game well enough to be a winning player long term anyway. These are the people I want in the game. Also, I'd like to comment that mining software is not an unfair advantage because everyone has access to it. If someone doesn't want to spend the money or effort to get it, then that's their fault. It's part of the online poker dynamic.

You're entitled to your opinion on HUDs, as wrong and misinformed as it may be. Just keep in mind that when you put it out here, and are in the significant minority when it comes to online players that actually have a clue, you will be challenged on it. Especially when you come across as a troll, like you are.

Oh, and most any HUD-using winning online player will smoke the average live player, even without a HUD. Your lack of comprehension of this perfectly goes to show that you don't understand HUDs at all, and you grossly underestimate the greater skill it takes to win online.

I have played a lot of online poker and a little live poker, i have used a HUD it was a bit annoying all the numbers and stuff.
You are missing the point here dmorris68, texas holdem is a great game without HUD's... they only exist to increase the profits for big poker companies and the parasite HUD clingons, of course it's good business to create an extra income stream that wouldn't and shouldn't otherwise exist and it also makes good business sense to expect players to pay for an even paying field, and that's the problem, maybe i think differently because i refuse to be taken advantage of by these companies and believe me when i say texas holdem is a better game without HUD's, yes you have to pay the parasite company riding the big shark or your playing on an uneven playing field.

How do they do that?? Carbons hud is free!
It's a tool to help in poker, it does not show the hands of the other players!
I use one on carbon, guess what it does not help me in getting hands.

I love the HUD by carbon poker!!!! By Carbon offering this for free I don't play on any other website and I save over $100. I originally thought the software was just like holdem indicator ( worthless) then I recently discovered they have a hud. Frankly, I can't tell a difference between Carbon HUD and PT4 and HM2.

As far as it being unfair and cheating, I think that is a selfish and ignorant remark. Also, this HUD is not going to make these fish any better. If you suck this software doesn't't tell you what to do. You have to gather the info and make a informed decision based off your knowledge and experience.

I Know you don't like me bumping old threads but as i cannot work out how to start one of my own i'am riding this puppy.
Firstly the humble HUD, well we all know that poker companies make profit on turnover and the reasoning is really quite simple it enables players of little talent to multitable no HUD no multitable players or there playing way less tables, is this poker or just mathematics for the cheats? your guess is as good as mine.
Now for the odds calculators, any player worth his or her salt already knows the important percentages and to be honest would not need an odds calculator.

Odds calculator's are very easy to find and download just google it and take your pick there's free one's one that cost money if you want to pay. You can download Carbon's one for free on there site it's ok, And will auto attach to the bottom of your game.

We are friends with the management at Carbon Poker, we have known them for many years now - in fact we introduced the owners of HEM to the Carbon Poker staff long before they purchased HEM back when they were just in the poker coaching business (its a very small industry, we are all quite friendly with one another). I can say with great confidence that the staff at Carbon Poker, PokerTracker, and even HEM would disagree with your statement. The differences are very obvious to the trained eye, the Carbon Poker odd's calculator does not compete with tracking tools that contain a HUD, it is a completely different category of product.
