^^^ I disagree. While it doesn't have the exact same value as it might for cash players, most serious MTT players play against a lot of MTT regs. But not only that, even within the context and sample size of a single MTT, the fundamental stats that at a glance give you a reasonable idea of what a player's tendencies are will converge over just a few hands. There is value in that, especially as players leave your table and come back later. Add in the multi-tabling factor, and HUDs get to be as useful as in cash games.

another dumb question:
can I use it on more than 1 computer? Or do I have to buy a copy for each computer?

and roughly what does it cost?

They cost around $100 and you can use them on different computers, I think.

Both PT4 and HM2 can be installed on multiple computers. HM2 allows for 2 simultaneous installs, and you can easily move the licenses between computers. PT4 allows at least 2 installs as well, but they manage the licenses differently -- I don't think they have a mechanism to reset or deactivate keys like HM, but monitor them for simultaneous execution or something.

And full stakes versions are $100. You can buy micro-stakes version at a cheaper price, maybe $65 or so, and then pay the difference later to upgrade.

If you are only playing tournaments I suggest you don't use it. You will get information on the players of your table with such a small sample that you could be playing with wrong information due tu variace. I think the best to play tournaments is to take notes. HUDs are really useful if you are a cash player, but it can get you into trouble in tournaments

I fully agree

For me, being able to go back over hands, make notes and use the tools in HM2, like LeakBuster and Notes Caddy helps me identify where I played bad. And even better, how badly my opponets played.

And when you have a big enough sample of hands, you can really drill down and look at what your game needs to improve. So that makes it worth the $$.

Just my $.02 :)

#2 I play primarily on Bovada and I'm pretty sure there is not a working tracker for Bovada, correct?

Correct. We do not intend to support Bovada; the company's founders is under indictment by the US DOJ, amongst other reasons.

This is precisely why we added NoteTracker, this new feature that comes built into PokerTracker 4 takes notes on the ranges you observe from your opponent, assuring that you do not miss notes that you should have taken manually - and helping you focus on the game, instead of writing notes. This is incorporated into the HUD.

PS: Tournament stats become more relevant vs regs and when you play smaller opponent fields, or against players who habitually run deep.

We do have this mechanism, but it is only used when we catch legitimate theft of our software, this assures that there are virtually no false positives - we don't disable licenses unless we have legitimate reasons to do so with excessive evidence.

another dumb question, if a certain software doesn't support Bovada, am I still allowed to use it on Bovada just for the purposes of evaluating my own game? or will it not even work at all to capture stats on myself?

The major trackers don't import Bovada HH's directly. There are 3rd party tools available to create Bovada HH's in a format importable by PT/HM for the purposes of self analysis.

Bovada won't stop you either way. AFAIK they don't even ban trackers/HUDs in their TOS, they just design their software in such a way as to make HUDs fairly useless.

If the software doesn't support particular platform it won't work.

This is correct. In fact Bovada asked us to support their anonymous hand histories, but we declined to support their hand history format.
