In my opinion, it's obvious. It's all about DeBruyne's absence, the whole game was built around him, and City simply don't have a replacement for a playmaker of that caliber, and when he dropped out, the mechanism fell apart.

I see four possible reasons:
1. The absence of Rodri and DeBryne
2. Variance kicks in for every team at some time
3. Probably last season for Pep. Seems to me there is som fatiuge from the Spaniard.
4. Some of the English players are overrated
The World’s greatest club, Real Madrid, also has experienced sub standard performances. They have no replacement for Toni Kroos. Mbappe is not integrated, But come June they will probably - as usual -lift The Champions League trophy again.

Rodri = without a doubt, the team lacks a leader for me when he is not there.
Definitely offensively weaker without KDB but that said - they have quality everywhere, teams are just setting themselves up to Counter attack City more, they are happy to have 10-20% of total match possession if it results in a draw and sometimes a win.
The top teams are having a tough time this season bar Liverpool who are on fire but again they have a relatively fit and available squad.

I think the main reason has been the injury and lack of minutes of Kevin De Bruyne and Doku, both give the team more possession of the ball and are essential to arm the MC attack, without them the MC loses solidity in the midfield and is exposed to quick counterattacks.

Yes but also , they have problems with scoring goals . Lets see whats happen next at champions league .Haaland also looks bad without any motivation .

This is 100% correct but also shows the defensive frailties when Rodri isnt there, if anyone had a doubt about this Ballon D'or winner, look at the stats for City and Spain when he plays, hes a huge miss. Citys game is all based around possession, starve them of this or set a low, counter attacking press and they struggle, teams are aware of that now which is why 90% of teams have 10 men at least behind the ball.
