ok so u say aces can easily be cracked just on flop right? and thats very true,,but using that theory,,you yourself are taking the biggest risk,,because we all know there is always one person that will call you.
I'm guessing everyone didn't get the memo that someone is
always going to call if you bet big because there are many occasions that I have bet big and everyone folded.
Secondly, the fewer people that call the better, if there is only 1 person against my AA then the chances that it will hold up are better, however if there are 10 people that see the flop,
odds are I will be beat, and AA is a hard hand to lay down. I would rather get my money in when I have the best hand than to limp and pray noone flops a set or 2 pair.
For example:
I have Pocket AA on the button, 5 people have just called the BB, it gets to me, I raise big (not necessarily all in, but a substantial raise). Chances are unless someone has a big pair they would fold, since noone has raised, chances are everyone is looking for a cheap look at the flop and noone has anything. Lets say the person in the BB has Q-2. Now usually with a hand like that they would fold to a big raise. So lets assume that 1 person does call as you say 1 person will always call. Lets say they have a pair of 10s.
Now lets say the flop is Q22. So now if I had limped in and the BB got a free/cheap look at the flop I would be beat, but having put in a substantial bet I am still in the lead.
Now sure in that same scenario the flop could come 10-10-2 or 10-J-7 or something that would make the pocket 10s the best hand, but I'm pretty sure that's why it's called
gambling. You can't win them all, but what you can do is put the odds in your favor, and narrowing the number of hands playing agains your AA is the best way to put the odds in your favor.
