How to play big tournaments

I would like to showcase management of bankroll in the choice preferrably for upper level tournaments and keep strict to them towards effective bankroll management. Is that a good strategy in the platform of GG poker and how to gain the upper hand on playing the 108-215 ticket tournaments? Does it look ambiguous to only tackle those tournaments in the long run? Any advice us welcome!

Optimal bankroll management is highly subjective based on your life situation. Also bankroll management only makes sense if you are a winning player who wants to reduce the risk of sudden bust due to variance. Most players are not winning players. And based on your posts I am pretty confident you are a losing player in those buy ins. In that case it doesnt matter if you have 50 buy ins or 2000 buy ins, you still lose. You should be thinking in terms of "I am willing to put $200 a week into this hobby".

Do you understand how much bankroll you need to play in tournaments with such a buy-in?
In my opinion, such a bankroll should be at least $10,000.

So basically I win sone percent of time then its up to me to bring in lower buyins. That's true, not that I know of losing too often, which btw us common occurrence in such large tournaments. Thanks for advice!

What exactly is a 108-215 ticket tournament? Do you mean tournaments with a buyin of $108-$215, where you qualify via satellites? In that case MTT Database Review gave you the answer already.

If you're planning on making money playing poker, play tournaments with a buy-in of 1/20 of your bankroll. I wouldn't recommend anything more expensive.

I had the chance to play big tournaments even with 200+$ buy in , but I was very disappointed, my results were very bad . The gameplay there is completely crazy , far more difficult than normal buy in tourneys . The decisions , the results , the hands , everything is so unbelievable. I would never pay from my own pocket to play such a high buy in game .

It’s a disciplined approach, but only playing $108–$215 tickets can be risky long term due to high variance and tougher fields on GG.
If your bankroll truly supports it and you have an edge, it’s fine. Otherwise, a tiered strategy works better: main volume at lower buy-ins, selective shots at higher levels. This protects bankroll, confidence, and keeps variance under control.

When I won tickets to big tournaments, I always played too tightly, and in bigger tournaments there are more good players, they will notice this and play more aggressively against you, 3-betting more, and you will overplay yourself. Just try to play like you do in other tournaments, just watch your chips, not the buy-in.

I don't quite understand how you plan to get these tickets. Are you planning to play in satellites?
Or are you planning to buy in directly?
If you plan to play in such tournaments, do you understand what your bankroll should be?
I think $10,000 is not enough. With such a ‘small’ bankroll, the game may end with you moving into your garage.

Personally, I’d be careful about building everything around high buy-in MTTs. Not because it can’t work, but because the mental load can be huge. A few bad runs in a row and suddenly you’re not focused on decisions anymore, just waiting for that one deep run to “save” the week.
For me, big tournaments work much better as an occasional challenge or reward (via tickets or satellites), not as an everyday obligation. That way the game stays enjoyable, and the pressure doesn’t bleed into every session.

Luck will simply play a huge role in tournaments. But you have to be strong enough to take advantage of that luck when it happens.So 91% of people have no chance to begin with. It takes that 9% of luck to win.We don't know which players will receive this hot card series.
