Reflections on memorable hands, tough decisions, and the lessons that linger.https://www.casino.org/replaypoker/hand/replay/1320052907
I saw a hand yesterday that made me question everything—was it luck, or was it wisdom? I didn’t play it, but it stayed with me.
What hands do you still remember? What choices left a mark?
I invite everyone who's witnessed a hand that shifted their perspective to share. It doesn’t matter if it was poker, blackjack, or even a moment far from the casino floor.Or spectacular hands you might have in future tournaments, or ones you've saved — feel free to post them here! For the delight of the players in our CChat community
Maybe “yesterday’s hand” is more than just a hand. Maybe it’s a lesson.

A few days ago, I had a really bad beat that still hurts whenever I think about it. I was playing AA against AK, and we both went all-in pre-flop. And guess what, correct, two Kings came on the turn and the river. I was completely destroyed. Of course, I’ve had other bad beats in the past, but this one is the most recent and still fresh in my memory.

I decided not to open with 77 from UTG and am now looking at 77 on the board and thinking I probably missed a chance to run really deep in a $100k game.

A lot of casino games are not skill based, so luck is a huge factor. The house usually has the edge so its important to understand why you won. There is no skill in pushing a button on a slot machine.

Poker is a skilled base game, so its really easy to look at large sample size and see if you have skill. All you have to do is look at your results on your hud or on sharkscope.

It’s surprising how often you lose with pocket Aces against someone holding Ace-King! If they hit a straight, I’d understand—but when two Kings show up on the board, it’s just downright unpleasant!

Wow! That’s how it often goes when you expect the flop to bring cards 8 and higher and assume you’ll lose! But look how you actually lose: if you don’t take risks based on how players act preflop, you miss out on sets and even potential quads!

It definitely seems to be a mixture of not taking risks and not believing what the board is telling you.

That’s a great reflection. Sometimes a single hand really does stay with you long after the chips are pushed. I’ve seen hands where a bold bluff turned into a teaching moment about timing, or where folding a monster hand taught more about discipline than any win ever could. It’s funny how much poker mirrors life, the balance between skill, instinct, and accepting what you can’t control.

I had a hand with 3 in it. Sure enough,3 3 comes on the flop. So i am seething that i folded my 3 rag while the hand plays out. Something like a straight possibility goes on the board, but it would take two cards in hand. But as everyone turns over their cards and i am seething that I could have won a lot of chips, the last hand showed their 3 A. So i would have lost all my chips if I went in with my 3 rag.

I always worry if I fold a hand preflop, that trips will appear on the flop.

I love the expression: “It’s funny how much poker mirrors life—the balance between skill, instinct, and accepting what you can’t control.” I think you’ve captured almost everything this game stands for...

Sure! Here's the translation:

"I'll never forget this hand in a $2.20 MTT. I had 22, and the board came 2♠ 2♦ T♠ Q♠. One villain had a full house, and two others had flushes. It’s a hand I’ll never forget, and it helped me win my first $2.20 deep stack MTT. It was a lot of luck to hit a monster hand and for three players to have very strong hands."

Let me know if you need any adjustments!

Wow! Yes, that’s a hand you just can’t forget! I’ll never forget another hand I played on PStars: I had AK, and the flop came AKK! So I had a full house—kings full of aces! The turn and river didn’t matter, I went All-in, got called, and after the river, at showdown… guess what he had? AA. That’s poker!!!

In my opinion, everyone sitting at a table, before the cards arrive in their hand, everyone's luck influences, already having them, there everyone with the skill, and wisdom.
