High‑stakes poker doesn’t mean only winning or losing, but also tough decisions. When you enter high stakes, it’s no longer just a game, but strategy and courage. In poker, dilemmas always appear: go all‑in or fold? How do you see these moments?I believe dilemmas are what separate an average player from a strategic one.

It’s not only about the cards, but about psychology and courage. Have you ever regretted your decision?

Yep, even at micro stakes you get tough spots. Staying calm and making the right decision is what makes a better player.

Yes, definitely. I’ve had tough moments, especially dealing with tilt deep in a tournament and then busting out. Those situations really test your psychology and patience more than the cards themselves.

Limits are limits so you can lose so much that you won't have problems with your budget...) And if you win big, why don't you look at the higher stakes...))

You’re right, tilt is one of the hardest things to deal with.Psychology and patience really make the difference. Have you found any strategy that helps you avoid tilt?

Interesting point. Sometimes a big win can also be a trap. How do you see the risk?Yes, limits keep the budget safe, but the temptation to move higher is strong. Have you had good experiences at higher stakes?

Do you find playing above your normal buy-in level locks you in? or do you play nervous or wreck-less?

Yeah, a couple things help me avoid tilt: take a quick break, drop down stakes, and remind myself it’s just variance. If I feel the tilt coming, I just sit out a few hands and reset. Simple, but it works. That's it.

Great tips, thanks! I agree that short breaks and dropping stakes really help. I try to focus on making the right decisions rather than the results, but it’s not always easy. How do you manage to keep your patience during longer sessions?

I think it really depends on the moment. Sometimes playing above my usual buy-in level makes me more focused and disciplined, simply because the stakes are higher. Other times, the pressure kicks in, and if I’m not careful, it can lead to rushed decisions. I try to find balance and not let emotions take over. How do you manage to stay calm when the stakes go up?

That sounds like a valuable experience! It’s great that you don’t let greed take over and that you see temptation as motivation. I think that helps you stay balanced at the table. How do you manage to keep your discipline when you feel the urge to suddenly move up in stakes?

I manage it by not forcing volume. If my mind gets tired, I pause. Staying fresh is way more important than grinding nonstop.

Man is weak... When there is a goal, at the first opportunity to climb the ladder into the unknown, curiosity and probability theory manifest themselves in vivid, dreamy tones ))))

Beautifully said! I think it’s exactly this mix of curiosity and the urge to climb into the unknown that makes the game so captivating. The key is turning those impulses into motivation rather than haste.

These are difficult times, depending on the value of the cards that come in my hand, most of the time I have thrown myself in the allin.

In poker, you can win with 2-2 and lose with A-A. The position when going all-in, bankroll management, and the aggressiveness of opponents make the difference. How do you manage these variables in high-stakes decisions?

Do you think a strategic player must also be courageous, or can courage become a trap?Tilt is the biggest enemy. Losing with A-A isn’t a disaster if you have the discipline to keep playing rationally!A hyper-aggressive opponent can turn a good hand into a trap. Learn to read the table’s rhythm...

True, the mental game is just as important as the cards. What techniques help you stay focused?
The focus I bring to game is to not play feeling pressure by the money. By playing with a light mind I can choose and decide better what to do in each game spot and moment.

I really like your approach! I think the game becomes much clearer when you don’t feel the pressure of money and keep your mind light. That way you can make better and more balanced decisions. I try to do the same, but sometimes temptation or emotions get in the way. How do you manage to always maintain that calm state?
