I will start with a head scratching WTF was he thinking game that I was involved in. I was playing in a MSPT 20% qualifier for the main event in 2016 at Firekeepers Casino in Battle Creek Michigan. This qualifier had a 220+30 dollar entry fee and the top 20% got an $1100 entry into the Main event. Any extra money went to the bubble person. They paid 15 entries and the 16th player left got $880. My strategy is simple in this type of game. I play conservatively and don't unnecessarily stick my neck out , always keeping in mind the goal is to be there at the end, a person with 1bb left gets the same prize as the person with the most chips. NOW in this game everything went normal and the field dwindled down from79 to 20 players. When we redrew for the final two tables with 20 players left, I had about 45K and was about 7th in chips. I drew seat 1, at 6 was the chip leader, seats 7 and 8 had the two short stacks trying to survive. After a couple of hands I noticed the chip leader was raising every pot and thought that was stupid, He could have sat out, went to dinner and collected his $1100 when he got back. But no, for some reason he had to play every hand. I eliminated a player in 20th place. Somebody at the other table went out in 19th and the very next hand I eliminated a player in 18th place. Now this is where it gets weird. The player in seat six has piddled away his huge stack and now has 60k, my stack, thanks to the two I eliminated, was over 100k. Button was seat 3, seats 4 and 5 were the blinds. Seat 6, the former chip leader was now the Hot Seat. I looked at seat 7 and 8 and they both had less than 2 bbs each. On the deal I got AA. seat 6 raised and it checked around to me and since I was not at risk of being eliminated I reraised, knowing he would either shove or call and C-bet the flop . He did the latter. the flop was A82, he bet , i raised, he shoved and I called, he rolled over 93 offsuit. He was literally drawing dead, and he was eliminated. Every body was stunned, somebody said WTF was he thinking, one of the short stacks said, "I have no idea but I am sure glad he thought it. The two shorts stacks who did not know each other went and had a beer together. Always adjust your game to whatever the goals are....

I open UTG JJ, they give me 3bettea MP, 4betteo grande and I pay. QJ5 table. I bet 50%, Raisea and I'm going for 130 BB. I pay and show Garlic. A hand I never expected in his range, considering his movements. In short, K comes out on the turn and I lose my hand. What struck me was the villain's craziness to play like that.

My memorable experience comes from the 2019 wsop Colossus event. I was part of the Cardschat team participating. I had managed to build up enough chips to survive a grueling 15 hour first day (automatically a min payout). I started day 2 with a rather modest stack. At this point, I had met many famous pro players, but none at my table. Second session starts with Richard Seymour at my table. For those of you who recognize the name, he was a three time Super Bowl champ with the New England Patriots and multi time Pro Bowl selection, turned pro poker player after retirement and was regularly seen on TV in poker tournaments...if you see him on TV, it's because he lasted long enough to make some final tables, and went deep in the 2019 WSOP Main event. Early in session 2, Richard and I end up head to head...I have 8,8 to his A,J...I go all in, he calls. My eights held up and I double up through RICHARD SEYMOUR, POKER PRO!!!!! What a blast!!! The entire experience was awesome...playing live poker at a local casino or even in Las Vegas is exciting like seeing a live pro football game...but this was like being at the Super Bowl, and beating a Super Bowl champ in one hand was indeed memorable, even if I only lasted another hour or so. It was a huge thrill.

It is always thrilling to meet a famous Player. I have played with Joe Cada and he verified he played travel soccer as a 12 year old when I asked him. His team was playing my sons team and I remember watching him and how he was focused a paying attention to the play and constantly making adjustments. Traits that he uses when playing poker.
