Some players have lucky charms, seats, or routines before playing. Do you believe in any poker superstitions?

Personally, I don't believe in superstitions, I don't perform any rituals, I don't have any talismans, and it's unlikely that they will help me win.

I used to have this weird superstition about red chips. For some reason, whenever I had a stack of reds in front of me, I felt like I ran better. Didn’t matter if I was up or down if the stack was heavy on reds, I just believed the cards would fall my way. Once, I even traded green chips with a guy next to me just so I could keep my red pile going. Looking back, it was completely ridiculous the cards don’t care what color your chips are but in the moment, it gave me this weird confidence. Funny thing is, confidence actually does matter in poker, so maybe it wasn’t so crazy after all.

I believed a lot in horoscopes, but the horoscope didn't believe in me. 80% of the days weren't good days to gamble. 19% were reasonably likely, and 1% were super lucky days.
I stopped believing.

Not really—but I get why people do it. Poker’s full of uncertainty, so a small superstition can feel like control. My “superstition” is just sticking to good habits: clear mind, good seat, and no tilted decisions.

No superstitions, rituals, talismans, magic potions, or magic bullets. All this is spam that only gets in the way. Only skills, discipline, and patience. Everything else is superfluous

I can't ask not to beat the opponent's card lol every time I'm winning and I ask not to beat the card it beats

I don’t really believe in poker superstitions, but I do think routines can be useful. Having a small routine before playing helps me focus and get into the right mindset, especially for longer sessions.
Instead of lucky charms, I prefer things that actually improve my performance, like reviewing hands, avoiding distractions, and making sure I’m mentally prepared. In the long run, good decisions matter much more than superstition.
