Some of these questions really do sound wild out of context.
The funniest one for me is when someone asks:
“How deep did you get?” — and I have to remind myself we’re still talking about poker, not a Saturday night story. 😄

Or when I say:
“I had to fold even though I was in position with a strong hand — the pressure was too much.”
That one always gets strange looks from non-players.

Poker conversations would definitely confuse anyone outside this world.

Deep runs usually come when I stay patient and avoid forcing spots rather than trying to “get there fast.” With the nuts, it really depends on the situation against aggressive players I’m happy to slow‑play and let them hang themselves, but versus passive opponents I’ll usually bet for value right away. As for playing against women, I don’t change my approach at all; I play the player, not the gender. Tendencies, stack sizes, and decision-making matter far more than who’s sitting across the table.
