I know it hurts to lose a large part of the pot you own, but it's better to lose it than to lose it all out of arrogance.

I got divorced a few years ago.
My wife and I started to get on each other's nerves. So we just decided to split up, and I think it was the right decision.

Too many players confuse pride with confidence and end up paying off when the hand is already screaming danger. Knowing when to release a pot isn’t weakness — it’s discipline, and discipline is what keeps your stack alive long enough to actually win.

We suffer more in our imagination than in reality.Arrogance serves as a kind of compensatory mechanism for insecurity and self-distrust. This personality trait is ingrained in childhood.

I completely agree with you, it's a wonderful point. At the time, realizing this required a lot of effort.

The thin part of these situations is knowing for sure that you are behind...

Mostly true. But sometimes I regret after folding and seeing what people got there with their hands.

Arrogance or ego are the enemies of poker in the long run. What sets one player apart from another is precisely knowing when to step back and analyze the game objectively, without emotions clouding judgment.

And keep going when you're in the lead! hahaha
Seems sensible, right? lol

"It's better to run with a good hand than to lose with an excellent hand."

I don't remember saying that phrase, but it's always relevant and valid!

Yup, it's good to remember the basics from time to time. It's especially hard when you get raised after you have been dry for a while, but you know you are probably beat.
