Playing few hands with good cards until you gain confidence, showing your aggressiveness is also sometimes necessary

  1. Play stronger ranges preflop: Stick to solid, fundamentally sound hands. Avoid speculative hands like weak suited connectors or offsuit junk, since aggressive players will pressure you into tough spots.

  2. Let them bluff into you: Aggressive opponents often over-bet or three-bet too much. By calling with strong hands, you allow them to “hang themselves” with bluffs.

  3. Slowplay selectively: Against hyper-aggressive players, slowplaying big hands (like sets or overpairs) can be profitable, since they’ll keep firing.

  4. Use position wisely: Sit tight in early position, but in late position, you can widen your range slightly since you’ll have more information before acting.

  5. Don’t fight fire with fire: Matching their aggression with weak hands usually backfires. Instead, stay patient and wait for premium spots.

  6. Exploit predictability: Many aggressive players fall into patterns (e.g., c-betting every flop). Recognize these tendencies and trap them.

When there is aggressive play at the table, adjustments come down to mental toughness, changing tactics, playing tighter, avoiding bluffs, using aggression against aggressors and bankroll management.

Against solid aggression, I show more respect and bluff less.
Against reckless aggression, I set more traps and make more strong calls.
Against heavy preflop aggression, I tighten my ranges and increase my value 4-betting.

How do you adjust your play when the table is very aggressive?
When the table is very aggressive, I tighten up my starting range and focus on playing strong hands in good position. I let the aggressive players do the betting for me instead of trying to out-aggress them in marginal spots. Patience becomes a big edge, because they often overextend.
I also reduce bluffing and shift toward value betting. Against constant aggression, I’ve found it’s more profitable to call or trap with solid hands and let them pay me off, rather than trying to force bluffs that are unlikely to work.

Wait for your card, but it's not certain. When the unfit are lucky in everything, any card is powerless

Try to play in position and tighten your range. And don't try to bluff them!

It depends usually when there is one massive whale or even 2 at the table, unlike the previous messages i will widen my ranges pre IP and tighten them OOP, we want to get involved in pots with the mark at the table tightening up too much is a mistake, yes we will increase our variance in the short term but we are almost certainly increasing our EV long term by playing pots with them.
If the whole table is full of lunatics it would depend alot on table dynamics and how the flow of post flop play is going, i would struggle to come up with a generalisation of what should be done in such an instance.

Aggression is not always an advantage. Aggressive players have their weaknesses. Of course, it all depends on the situation, but if there are aggressive opponents at the table, I try to use their aggression against them. I won't take unnecessary risks myself, but if the situation is right and I have promising cards, I can set a trap.

Try to focus on position.

Tighten your preflop range.

Loosen your 3bet range.

Squeeze more.

Как вы корректируете свою игру, когда за столом очень агрессивная игра?
Open only hands with you're ready to either call 3-bet or go on the offensive yourself

In tournaments with a very aggressive table, the ideal approach is to play more solidly and disciplinedly, considering stack sizes, position, and ICM. Avoid marginal calls, value position, and reduce big bluffs. Near the bubble or final table, prioritize survival and exploit players who cannot afford to be eliminated, punishing excessive aggression with value play.
