Raise to see the flop, if with a lot of chips looking for three of a kind or shove pre flop if in profitable spot.
God bless

Good tips! One thing I do sometimes is flatting JJ in certain spots, especially against very aggressive opponents. It helps control the pot size and keeps weaker hands in. But if the opponent is passive, I usually 3-bet for value.

It all depends on the position and, of course, the players' behavior, but 3 BBs definitely make it easier to play.

...it depends on the position I'm in and the moment of the tournament and the hand stacks involved... without this information I can't say what strategy I would use...

Vocês têm alguma outra maneira de jogar com o JJ?
According to JJ's history it's fold kkk jokes aside I believe it depends on the position, previous actions, etc.

JJ is a pretty interesting hand, because people often overplay it, but underplaying is common as well

I would say there is no perfect strategy that will work every time, you should look at stacks, position, types of opps.,

But generally i would say this:

Preflop
always 3bet in late positions, but be careful in early position, sometime cold call would be better, dont be scared to overfold vs 4 bet, its fine

Postflop
cont bet in position even with high cards on the flop, generally you just wanna get maximum value if you have overpair or see showdown without betting much vs high board

Pre-flop: I’ll usually raise or 3-bet to protect my hand, especially against loose players who limp often. But if I face a 4-bet from a tight opponent, I might just call or even fold, depending on stack sizes and position — because JJ doesn’t do well against hands like QQ, KK, AA, or AK.

Post-flop: If there are no overcards (like Q, K, or A) on the board, I’ll continue betting for value. But when those overcards appear, I slow down — checking or calling small bets instead of building a big pot.

In the end, pray to be the hand winner. 🤣

Pocket Jacks are tricky - strong, but dangerous. I usually raise preflop to protect them, but stay cautious if there's an overcard on the flop. It's a hand to play confidently, but not overplay - good for value, not for going all-in blindly.

Great list! JJ is definitely one of those tricky hands that can look strong but get you in trouble fast.
Personally, I like to 3-bet most of the time, but if I’m out of position or facing a nitty player, I’ll sometimes just flat and play postflop carefully.
Also, when stacks are deep, I’m extra cautious — JJ can quickly turn into a bluff catcher if overcards show up.
How do you usually handle JJ against an early position open?

The list is good, but how I play JJ (as well as any hand really) is also dependent on table dynamics and strategy outside of just that one hand. Of course you'd play JJ against a NIT differently than against a LAG.
