This was a hand I had in an omaha h/l tournament that i was questioning the low. In my hand history it shows the low as follows
Player1) 7, 6, 5, 4, 1
Player2) 7, 6, 4, 3, 2
The rest of the hand details are below. I am confused with the results. This was googles AI and I asked a couple ways. The above player1 and 2 I asked which would win for the low putting all relevant info and it said Player 1 beats player 2 for low but below the explanation player 1 scoops the hand. Well you can read below. Im so confused?
In Omaha Hi-Lo,
Player 1 wins the entire pot (scoops) because they make the best high hand (Two Pair, Kings and Sixes with an Ace kicker) and Player 2 has no qualifying low hand, meaning the high hand takes everything, as Player 1's hand also contains the Ace for potential low, but it's irrelevant since Player 2 can't make a low, and Player 1 has the best high, making Player 1 the overall winner.
Here's the breakdown:
Player1) 7, 6, 5, 4, 1
Player2) 7, 6, 4, 3, 2

In Omaha Hi-Lo,

Here's the breakdown:
- Board: 7, K, 4, 6, 7
- Player 1: A, K, 5, 6 (Uses K, K, 7, 7, A for High)
- Player 2: K, 2, 3, 5 (Uses K, K, 7, 7, 5 for High; No Low)
- Both players have Kings and Sevens (K, K, 7, 7).
- Player 1's fifth card (kicker) is an Ace (A), while Player 2's kicker is a Five (5).
- Ace is higher than Five, so Player 1 wins the high half.
- Player 1 has A, 5, 6 (with the 4 and 7 from the board, but can't make a 5-card low). Player 1 can't make a qualifying low.
- Player 2 has 2, 3, 5 (with the 4 and 7 from the board, making A, 2, 3, 4, 5 – but they use their 2, 3, 5 with board's 4, 7, so Player 2 also can't make a qualifying low hand).
- Since neither player can make a qualifying low hand (5 unique cards 8 or lower), the entire pot goes to the winner of the high hand.
