Play fewer hands, but play them well
Don’t try to see every flop. Select strong hands (high pairs, strong aces, suited connectors) and avoid marginal hands.

Position is everything
Playing in late position (button and cutoff) is a huge advantage because you act after your opponents and have more information.

Learn to fold without fear
Folding is not losing, it’s saving chips. Many beginners lose money because they don’t know when to let a hand go.

Don’t play emotionally (tilt)
If you’re angry, tired, or frustrated, stop playing. Tilt is one of the biggest enemies in online poker.

Manage your bankroll properly
Never play with money you can’t afford to lose. Play lower stakes and move up only when your bankroll allows it.

Don’t overuse bluffs
bluffing is part of the game, but doing it too often is a common mistake. Learn to value bet first.

Learn basic probabilities
Understanding pot odds and your chances of completing a hand will give you a huge edge over other beginners.

Study away from the tables
Watch videos, read articles, review your hands, and learn from your mistakes. Poker is won more by studying than by playing.

Hello! Start slowly and don't expect big results in the blink of an eye.

My recomendation is: cash games lowest stakes (NL2) + freerol tournaments. I believe cash games are simplier, tourneys have much more complexity just because the stack sizes change

+ 1 important advice, perhaps not so obvious: track your results! So you will see and measure your progress after some time.
Some could recommend some sophisticated sofware here (HUDs etc) but I just use a spreadsheet.

It is important that you understand what your goals are, at least for the coming year. If you want to earn money, your goals will serve as a clear guide for you. But your goals must be realistic. If you want poker to become your profession, you need to look at it from a 5-year perspective, or better yet, a 10-year perspective.
