I played at a $5000 texas hold em live tournament. When it started, someone was all ready out in one minute. Jokingly, he asked if he gets anything for being the last one out. The announcer said yes and handed him a wrapped present. What do you think about give a prize to the first person out. I didn't see what the present was but I'm sure it was nothing special.

I think that's basically where the term "booby prize" came from.

I have seen this before and the prize was a book on how to play poker. When we have a home game my wife gets a little prize for everyone. It drives me nuts.
