I recently read something about this elsewhere on Reddit about WPTG not doing very well with bot detection.
WPTG has their security team that investigates suspicious activity, but ultimately bots just get more sophisticated. It's just a never ending cycle.

Interesting spot. In official live tournaments like WPT, bots aren’t allowed — everything is dealt and played live with real people. Online events are where bots can sometimes show up, but live poker is human-only. What you probably saw was just a player with super consistent timing and bet sizing, which can feel robotic. Some grinders train themselves to act at the same speed every hand so they don’t give off tells. It’s annoying, but it’s not a bot in a live setting.

I have a feeling accusing people of being bots is about to become as prevalent as angry gamers calling everyone who defeated them a cheater.
I used to train against bots in competitive games 25 years ago, why? It keeps your basic skills sharp.
