Do you play online poker to make money, or for the entertainment aspect.
I’ve been playing online for about a year. I haven’t cashed out yet but I’m having a lot of fun.
Don’t get me wrong. I have my winning streaks and my losing streaks, but in the long run my bankroll steadily decreases,
Exp. I deposit $100 in my account. I like to play $.05/.10, and $1.50/3.50 Sit and Go’s (I figure, I’ve got to learn to win at small stakes before I go to bigger stakes).
Typically that $100 will allow me to make @ $1,000 in bets before my bankroll diminishes.
So that $100 gets me about 3 months of playing, and I consider that cheap entertainment for being home bound during the pandemic.
Any thoughts on this?

I play poker for the entertainment value. If it only cost me $100 for 3 months of entertainment that would be fine.

Now I do play and I am a student of the game. One thing I learned is poker is a long term game and there is a lot to learn. To become a break even or a winning player is not that easy or simple as many would like to think it is. Study the game and continue to get better and the losses will take longer before you need to add more funds and eventually you will see the money go in the right direction. Just use proper bankroll management and you will do well long term.

Best of luck to you.

Good luck all and remember to me "it is only a game" not at all my livelihood:D

I play for the challenge. Not sure I would really call that entertainment. Since I only play on Replay Poker I obviously don't play to make money,

Poker is a hobby so I play for fun mostly even though I do play for money. I'd love to win a lot since I play tournaments and take my shot at a big prize but mainly I play to have fun plus relax after work. If I win money that's a great incentive to play but my main focus is to have fun and enjoy myself which most of the time I can say I do while playing poker.

For me it is just a hobby but it has so many challenges that I think it will accompany me even longer. And as with most hobbies, what you like to do, you do (hopefully) well.

That seems to be exactly the way my games have been, Ups and Downs. Make money in 3 or 4 sessions--then give it all back in one session. thanks for the reply

I think both because you can have fun and on conditional chips, interest is more caused by the fact that it is for real money

As some earlier said here I'm doing it for both reasons. After all the game is the most fun when you win imo.
However I was in your position earlier (when I was younger and inexperienced) when my roll would steadily decrease. Ironically what turned it around was when I started to play purely for entertainment reasons.
I think that allowed me to focus more on the actual gameplay and how my decisions impacted the outcome instead of feeling pressured by the need to win back what I've lost earlier.

Dont you think it's more fun winning than loosing? [emoji4]

Do you play online poker to make money ,or just for entertainment

I play in online poker tournaments to make money as it will be part of my retirement fund, but I use my late registration system in micro tournaments and grinding to build my bankroll.

Only for entertainment, else I certainly wouldn't have registered at this site (in search of freerolls). :)

Poker is a fun game and I'm ready to invest some money into it to make it more thrilling.

I really enjoy playing poker, but the objective of the game is to win money, so i really think one thing doesnt excludes another. Rarely start to play just because i need to.

I think most people play poker for money, but there are also those who play poker for fun, a good way to kill time)).
If I were you, I would play other disciplines, in my opinion, sit & go is not very interesting in every sense, it would be better to play cash or normal multi-table tournaments.

I don't play it daily but for me it is a source of income and to earn money, I wouldn't play it for entertainment, my goal has always been to earn money and assuming that this involves constant study, whoever sees it as entertainment is very good in the same way, the important thing is to have a clear personal objective:jd4::jd4::jd4::jd4:

I love playing poker for fun. I couldn't make any money playing the game. Yes, there were moments when I took out cash, but it was not earnings, it was like a small gift from the game.

Poker is just a hobby for me, so I'm happy with a mix of freerolls (thanks CC!) and some fake money games. While I have no illusions of earning income, cashing in a freeroll always brings added pleasure.

Of course I like the game and I think it's fun, but I play poker mostly for the money. If did not had the chance of winning any money, I would still play, but a lot less, maybe 1x per week.

I play mainly for fun but also for money as I make small amounts of money and my bankroll increases just step by step. Hopefully this changes one day but even without money poker is still a great game and I would play just for fun.

Yes, I like poker and I play for fun and I strive to win. Earning money is a beautiful leopard as well. If I don't win, it's okay, it's a hobby for me.
