It was a knockout tournament, and in these tournaments I feel that my skill level isn't up to par, with lots of 3-bets and 4-bets that I have trouble dealing with. I need to expand my 4-bet range at this level and bluff more.

In hindsight, I think it was a mistake to go all-in here, because in a KO tournament, they will call with a wider range. Many Ax hands can beat me, and I don't have anything to cover to get the bounty.

What do you think?

For $109 buy in and 16bb I would probably wait for a better hand when facing an open from middle position while on SB with a short stack. What are the odds that BB woke up with a monster here or are you flipping with overcards against a smaller pair?

Anyway, I would be on board with jamming with AQs or better here, but not with KQo.

You are right, 16BB could have been played further, and because of the ante, less equity is needed to call anyway.

Think you are putting yourself there even KQs too often at risk, in this spot

I think, this is fine. You do need to chip up to get back in this game, and most often you will get action from just one player and then play a "flip" with decent overlay. I would probably fold KJo though, so we are at bottom of range here, but no mistake.

Thank you for your answers. I think even weaker players can win because of the prize money, but these KO tournaments are very complicated :D
