This happened to me last week. I got dealt As, Ac. The blinds are 10/20 and it's only the second hand dealt in the tournament. Eight players (including me) are at the table. One player raises it to 80. I raise to 200. Evryone folds except two players (one of them who raised, let's call him Player A). The flop comes 9c, 3d, 4h. Player A checks. I raise to another $200. Player B calls and Player A folds. The turn is 4s. I raise it to $300. Player B raises it to $500. Of course, I had to think about it here. He could have a four but for some reason, I didn't think he did so I called. The river is a 6s. I check because I knew Player B was going to bet. He bets $1500. I start pondering this decision for a good two minutes. It's too early in the tournament but only a four or pocket 3, 6, or 9 can beat me. If I call this, I would only have about $600 left. Player B calls and I ask what he has. He turns over 6h, 10h. I turn over my pocket rockets. Now, this is a player who has played against me every week (poker league) so he knows I'm usually conserative and tight. He excalimed "No wonder he didn't fold, he had aces!" Then, he gets up from the table and says aloud "Why did I call with 6, 10?!!" I'm wondering myself. The only thing I can think of is he thoguht he could get me out by raising heavily. What do you hink?
