Why wouldn't a player last to act -bet the stone cold nuts his hand makes on the river?

Live tournament this would be a penalty!

Anybody?

Looking at the replay it seems like, he timed out on the turn and was sitting out on the river. The turn check happened, after he ran down his entire clock, but the river check was instant. In that case it is a flaw of the Replay Poker software. On real money sites like PokerStars a player is not considered sitting out, until the hand is over. So there he would have gotten time to act on the river, even if he timed out on the turn. And if he disconnected, he would have gotten some extra time to reconnect. So I think, this was caused by badly designed software rather than collusion or anything else. Classic case of WYPIWYG (What You Pay Is What You Get) :)

Thank you very much for this analysis.

I feel better about the situation lol

The only question I have is - if the player is paused and times out then he is "sitting out" - no? And I think sitting out in Replay always loses the hand?

I don't know for sure - but I appreciate your opinion on this.

No in properly designed software you are not sitting out, until the hand is over. If nobody bets, you get to showdown and can win the hand, as happened here. The flaw is, that he did not get time to act on the river, just because he timed out on the turn.

Apparently not since he won this hand.
