I'm a new player. And slightly elongated retractions require a lot of energy. How to maintain this longevity

That’s very normal, especially when you’re new. Long sessions can be mentally exhausting. The key is to focus on session management, not just endurance.

Try playing shorter, high-quality sessions instead of very long ones, take regular breaks, and stop when you feel your focus dropping. Having a routine helps a lot — good sleep, hydration, and light exercise make a big difference in mental stamina.

Over time, as decisions become more automatic through study and experience, the mental energy required decreases. Longevity in poker is more about consistency and discipline than grinding endless hours.

Avoid regular speed MTTs and play games, where you can end your session or take a real break (not just 5 minutes), whenever you feel like it. Cash games are the most flexible, then SnGs, then hyper and turbo MTTs. In the tournament lobby on Pokerstars its stated, how long each tournament is expected to take. And while these numbers are of course only approximate, they give a good indication of what to expect.

Everyone trains and adapts) You just have to get used to it... Then you play and you wonder how you can sit like this for several hours in a row... especially imperceptibly when everything is fine...)))

Everything will come with experience. At first, too, 2 hours seemed like a long time to me. Now I play for at least 6 hours every day, and this has become the norm.
