Exactly what I am wondering. I assume it evolved from people getting cheated by way of having someone in a backroom looking at their cards.

this is bovada right? are you downloading the HHs? you should be able to see every hand that 3bets you so come back with a range of OOP and IP 3bet freq and ranges and we can go from there

I don't have any poker software at all. Never felt it was a good investment since I had never regularly played online.

Think I just got backroomed at the casino so that was interesting.

What happened?

Not going into too many details, but was messing around casually with a pit game w/some friends for the night after I was done grinding live. I may/may not have seen something a dealer was doing and took advantage...then the pit floor came over and kindly asked me to come into the back room w/him to discuss some things so I just insta-bounced and cashed out.

I play on Bovada. Are there any free trials for software? I think I need a Bovada converter too.

Getting taken to the back of the casino when they suspect your playing an advantage. In the old days it supposedly involved some threats and/or actual violence.

o_O What did you see the dealer doing lol.

FU

I like never convert my hands anymore - maybe once a month even when grinding. I have to run it on parallels since I have a mac, and it's super ****ing slow. My comp is sorta starting to die tho.

Strugling to play pokerz after holidays, take a break since the 27th, get back and played 15 minutes Jan 2, another 15 minutes Jan 3 (both positive), not played since then.

I open the poker site today but just not feel the need to play and closed again, i think need a goal or something.

I don't want to say I did, but I believe they thought I could see the bottom of the dealer's 3 cards when he took it out of the shuffler.

Who told you to stream? Slash why are you? Seems like a lot of work, if none of your poker goals involve getting your name out there. Though I guess I don't know if they do lol.

I've had some people on Skype kind of push it for awhile so I decided to take a shot at it. I have a sick setup coming tomorrow which I'm going to attempt to build, so once that's done, I should have a perfect computer lair for streaming. Also, the more views = the more $$$$.

Partially this, partially knowing someone out there might be watching keeps tilting under control + almost forces one to play good.

Or you could generate views by frequently tilting and completely flying off the handle. :p

I'd be pretty shocked if you could turn it into something that actually makes money. I think you have to be getting in the realm of millions of unique page hits to turn views into money, but don't let my doubt stop you prove me wrong :)

Right, it's not like baller money or anything...but if I could generate any passive income at all from doing something I naturally do all the time, it would be cool is all. Plus, most of the poker streams truly suck. It's like guys grinding 10nl acting like pro's or super entertaining like StickyRice, where there's literally zero informational content but purely fun. I've only found one stream with a guy playing decent stakes + informational + entertaining somewhat.

From what I've seen of twitch I've always been able to access prior streams I assumed you meant money from ad content.

Also, if people subscribe to you, you gain that money as well. Not exactly sure what some of those benefits are. I'm not planning on making any serious money or anything, but it's just a fun little idea to keep grinding fun. I treat it the same as making videos tbh.

Twitch can be decent money. If you can get an average of 2k+ views each time you stream it's full time money. Provided you do all the stuff to make people feel like they're supporting you and are part of your community.

How do you stream poker without showing your hands? A delay or software to blur your hand?

Twitch is great.

You pay $5 to subscribe to someone and you get some benefits such as no ads and stuff but it's not really about what you get it's more about showing your support. What benefits you get are mainly up to the streamer. The streamer and Twitch split the money. Most money comes from donations I think which paypal takes a small cut of.

You have to be getting a regular amount of viewers before Twitch gives you the subscriber button, a few hundred every time you stream. You have to be pretty serious about building your community and content to get to that point unless you're seriously good or something.
