Do you think Casino Games should be offered apart from Poker?

Me personally i think they not really belong in the same place but can also be beneficial to have those games all in one venue. What is your opinion?

I'm kind of one of those grumpy poker purists,

although I do like blackjack and a little baccarat occasionally.... ok and sometimes roulette,

so I do understand people who like poker might also like casino games and sportsbetting

What do you mean - apart? All big online poker sites have a separate casino section, and real casinos offer (more or less) poker games too. I think this situation has been going on for quite some time, and is probably necessary for their income.

I can remember a time when poker sites didn't have casinos at all... they were just strictly poker sites,

when Pokerstars added their casino I was suitably appalled,

and all the sportsbetting with footballers everywhere lol

Poker doesnt build casinos -slots do.

Casinos make most of their money from games like slots and they often lose money on poker.

So if you want poker in the casino you often have to tolerate the table games.

What i meant with apart is that poker could be played and offered in some places where they only offer poker and no other real money games.

In my opinion, poker and casinos are completely different things. I think these games should be separated, and they definitely shouldn't be combined. Poker is a completely autonomous game that is entirely self-sufficient, and any additions to it will always be superfluous in my opinion. But obviously, poker sites are primarily focused on making a profit, so they combine everything as much as possible.

Obviously i have heard that allegedly they do have casino (and sports betting) available but guess we must be one of the very few nations there for whom both these 2 features are unavailable (for whatever reason)

I think only poker should be offered, since it’s the only game that truly involves skill and provides a fair chance for players to win, unlike other games where the house always wins

Of course they should, we want as many roulette/blackjack/whatever players to play poker as possible!

Casino games should be offered as well as poker. I think those games can be refreshing especially if the variance in poker have given you headache, sometimes you can win from them as you do in poker. They are both a game of chance.

I believe for poople understanding poker there is a big difference between poker and casino games. The difference is expected EV. In poker it depends on players, their skill. Playing casino games is -EV by design.

But it does not matter what poker players prefer - sites go for profit, so they will obviously offer casino games as well.

Yes this is definitely a good point. You want many possible donators near you as a poker player to gain the maximum Profit possible.

@Risto234
Do you have this in your client settings?
Settings
I could hide my casino section if I unticked the box "Show Casino games".

Just a thought...

Logged to stars for the first time this year to look these lobby things - everything from alternative layout to branding is the same but as expected no sign of casino and sports

So yeah #uninstall stars sure is justified once again.

Maybe the reason you don't see them could be a regulatory issue? Maybe they are simply not allowed in your country and where you stay?

In that case, they wouldn't make much money. Besides, when casinos started, there was no poker. Poker players should be grateful the game has been integrated.
Also, don't forget that poker rooms are always separated already, whether online or in live casinos.

Well there are certain countries where so-called poker clubs exist or existed. Yes highly doubt owners got rich from it. "Grateful", idk really.

I never had problem to see in the poker lobby some slots or other casino games to be proposed to you to play . They are all gambling games . If you don't like this , you can set new preferences in the settings menu , disable casino games or even ban them completely , and you won't see them nor be able to play them

I like the story that happened to Victoria Coren Mitchell and Pokerstars. She had a contract with PS, she was in their team of professional players. And when the PS decided to add casino games, she tore a very profitable contract with them.
