Would you intentionally put another player on tilt?

To answer the question, YES! There have been plenty of examples where I showed my bluff cards to show my opponent that he can beat everyone!

The only thing I talk about with other players is when they are being aggressive, prejudiced or racist, then I like to make them tilt and report the account.

Over the past while I have really pondered this question, and for me it really is kind of yes and no. If the villain concened is being an obnoxious twat, like Kassouf, then yes, for sure, but it depends on how I'm feeling. I mean, most of us are not like that at all, So then I show respect, as I would like to be treated.

i never show my hand, unless i know the person and i never show a bluff, only the goods!

The emotional state of the opponent must be used to one's advantage. If the opponent is too emotional, this is his weakness. I would show my cards without any second thoughts and I would consider it a perfectly fair game.

That's an interesting question and my answer was instantly YES(though I understand the arguments of the members that answered No)- one of my favorites quotes is "all's fair in love and war" and poker is 'war', so if you can make a really good player play worse/ make bad decisions and maybe lose his chips because of it by showing a bluff than why not?! Also, if the person doesn't have a good mental poker game and tilts that easily (IMO) that's their problem and they should definitely work on it- nowadays you can't really be a good poker player(for sure not a top pro poker player) if you don't work constantly on your mental poker game...

Whatever the profile of my opponent, I don't show my bluff.

Every information given is valuable and brings an advantage to opponents, so I am against showing a bluff.

This is a game and everything from game tactics, mathematical calculations to psychology, and a simple feeling of relying on luck is collected here. So I think that in poker all methods are acceptable to achieve your goal.

It's allowed, it's part of the game.

I don't think it's wrong, in the middle of competitions it's normal to encounter these situations, but I'm not much of a fan of doing that, it's not my style, I prefer to play quieter.

In poker every play that is not banned is fair I would probably won't show a bluff as in this case showing cards could improve his play.

Yes it is all part of the game. If someone cannot handle there own emotions then that is not your problem.

I wouldn't show him my bluff because I generally don't show my cards.

If other players do this to put someone on tilt, I don't think it's unfair. It is legitimate as long as it does not involve any violation of the rules specified in the tournament rules.

If you are not willing to use this type of game, I think you should leave poker or at least have no expectations of winning a tournament.

I feel like there are two questions inside this one question.

The first is about showing your cards. I think that most of the time, the benefit of showing your cards and tilting an opponent is outweighed by the harm of giving all of your opponents information (there's usually more than two of you at the table). I think there may be times when you can manipulate your table image in beneficial ways by showing, but those sorts of attempts can also be transparent to any thoughtful player. So for the most part, I don't show my cards, bluff or not. I think there's more benefit in withholding information.

I think the second question is about the ethics of intentionally tilting another player, and this is a little more complicated. I think a person can absolutely go too far. Guys like Martin Kabrhel or Tony G are just bad humans IMO. I think there are things that are required of us as humans before what is required of us as poker players, and not being a total jerk in order to gain some possible edge fits that role. On the other hand, within the game structure, you can act in ways that wouldn't be cool in normal life. In normal life, I tend to try to be honest and transparent most of the time, and try not to intentionally mislead people solely in order to benefit myself. That's because life isn't a zero-sum game, and poker is. In poker, I'm almost always trying to either mislead people, or encourage them to make bad decisions, or both. Given that, I will happily try to tilt other players with my play, but avoid trying to tilt them in ways that have nothing to do with the play at the table.

I rarely show my cards, but will occasionally show a good hand to establish/maintain credibility. While I probably wouldn't show them in this case, it's just not my playing style, but I see nothing unfair with it either.

I'm ready to do anything to get the hand. It is certain that I will bluff when I think I have an opportunity, but I will know if I am wrong and if I will win the hand only when I sweat a little more and find out if my opponent has read me or discarded the cards. There is no mercy in the game of poker. Everything is returned and everything is paid for.

The game of poker is also a mind game if I can work on my opponent's mind I certainly will. If he gets out of balance I bluff every time I win bluffing I will show my cards until he loses all the chips.

I do it all the time in the freerolls. If I have a big stack, I will try to put somebody on tilt. Show him the big bluff and sit back and watch somebody else take him out. All is fair at love and poker.

As hard as poker is today, I must admit that yes but mostly online (in case some dude is mafia implied). And not CC implicated in any way. Every edge I can get, I will use. I'm a sweetheart, but there's no friends in poker (except CC once again).

No I’m not because I’m new one in poker. But when it was done one time, I was get quickly knocked out by this player because I he was very lucky on the turn or river.

I think it's a fair move, it is a psychological game as much as it is a numbers game, making your opponents tilt is just a kit in a tool belt

It really depends ths situation, the player and the money involved.

To someone who is completely new to the game i would rather not do it for different reasons.

It can actually backfire. I had it multiple times that people actually started to play better after i showed a bluff and/or made comments

So if i am in a passive and friendly round im not trying to tilt anyone since its more easy to steal the blinds and bluff when they are not so eager to win against me.
