Many poker players have developed specific problems with their nerves. Bad beats drive you crazy. But I feel that with the advent of poker my nerves were greatly shaken.I heard that some pro players practice meditation.But I won’t reach such a level as to break the tablet.

Nope. Some serious issues when somebody does something like that because of a game - obviously, it is never only because of the game.
I know people that did that playing LOL. Can you imagine? Loosing money is one thing, breaking your computer because of pure competitiveness is a all other level - you must be really complexed in the head, and probably rich.

I'm a pretty decent player. Sometimes I can speak profanity about my opponent, but only verbally. I have never broken anything under the influence of emotion. Such behavior is not typical for me

I´m playing online poker since 2001. While I was younger and less experienced I was also more impulsive.
When I was young, I was responsible for the death of numerous wireless mice due to bad beats.
Some smashed against the wall and one even found its way onto the street through an open window.
In those days, I always had at least two spare mice on my desk.

Today, I can only shake my head at that. Almost a quarter of a century of suck outs have hardened me so that my blood pressure doesn't even rise significantly when I hit a bad beat.

From time to time I had the urge to break my monitor, but not because of poker but because of my work. But really, if I'm unlucky or can't concentrate, I just turn off the computer.

It normally takes a few bad beats to wind me up, to let off steam I often go withdraw the total balance from the site and go play a video game.

I did get in the habit of slapping myself in the face if I did something really stupid. Thank goodness I have realised that is something only a deranged nutter would do.

Yes, you are right. I was chip leader and I started to lose with strong hands, I had a goal to make top 3 but unfortunately I couldn't survive.

This experience taught me to better manage my stack at the final table, to understand a little of the ICM concept and not to set a goal to reach a specific place.
