The chess candidates tourney is happening in Russian.
I like Ding Liren but he lost 3 games and is in last position.Ian Nepo and Maxime Lagrave Vachier are the leaders.
Who is your favorite chess player to win the candidates tourney?
And do you think the winner is capable to beat Magnus Carlsen?

Magnus Carlsen: I think none of them will win! I look and worry about the Chinese chess player Ding Liren because I bet money with a coefficient of 9.9 for his victory!

I think Vachier-Lagrave have good chances to win the candidates, but I also believe that non of them can beat Magnus Carlsen if he takes the next world championship serious.

(funny) sideline fact: That Grischuk is still playing on that level after so many years shows how serious he takes the game and how disappointing it maybe is for him that he'll never world champion. But he won a lot of other medals, especially in the chess olympiad if I remember right.

Unfortunatly the tourney was cancelled because of the Pandemia.

My favorite player is Fabiano Caruana.He is the one who can beat Magnus Carlsen.

I don't think any current player can beat Magnus when he's taking the game seriously. It's going to take the next prodigy as well as Magnus aging before someone is capable of matching his level of play.
