I actually do the grocery shopping for my family and I take the boy with me just so his mother can have ~1.5 hours home alone. Yeah she generally cleans/does laundry while we're out but I'm pretty sure she enjoys the quiet as well.
I'm sure she does. I cannot seem to get one thing done when everyone's home, but have them leave for a couple of hours, and it's amazing what I can do! :p

Just as soon as his feet can reach the pedals in the car.

You probs just need to train him better. That's the point of having kids right? Teaching them cool tricks? That and hoping they end up being really good at something so you can retire and live off them.

I have a question regarding a hand I played last night, I couldnt find the hand history and I cant be bothered to search anymore.

Anyway, the game was 6 max 0.10/0.05 I had 88 on the button and I raise to 30c. The big blind raises to 1.20 and I know that he has a huge hand as he is a huge nit. I thougt he had AA/KK but make the call despite this as my thinking was that if I hit my set I take his stack and if I miss i only lose a small amount. On this occasion it paid off as the 8 landed on the flop and got it in vs AA.

Does anyone think that this is a bad line to take? Am i going to hit often enough to make this profitable?

Depends on stack sizes!

Depends on effective stack sizes. When you set mine you miss 8 out of 9 times so if you could stack your opponent EVERY time you flopped a set the effective sizes would have to 9x the raise just to break even.

But you don't always stack someone. Sometimes villain is 3betting with AK, misses and folds to a large bet or folds because they don't want to risk their stack with a single pair. Also a small percentage of the time villain makes a straight, flush or higher set.

Rule of thumb is that effective stack sizes need to 20 times the size of the raise to make set mining +EV. So in this case his stack would need to be in the $ 18 or greater to make this profitable.

Some ppl work on a lot less than x20. There was an article om 2p2 a while back saying you need approx x12, then this was upped a bit. I think WV works on like x20. In position I will go for > of x12 depending on villains 3b% (obv not always to setmine).

Thanks for the responce. I thought at the time that I made a decent play(mainly because i won), but the more I thought about it the more I doubted it. So I thought id ask here just to be sure.

Well, obv if you play more you're only going to hurt your sick winrate. Probably best to just tell everyone how awesome you are and flaunt the 155/100. Massive +epeen.

Lol yeah they can I think.

Just had an awesome dinner. Chicken with pesto wrapped in bacon with garlic potatoes. Life is good. Also got cut too so I look less like a tramp.

As for set mining, I've heard generally we want about 170bb's to set mine in a 3-bet pot. Assuming that's a 10bb raise that's 17x. IP I think we can go down to 150bb's or even 120bb's like Jag suggested if he's a nit.
