I hope you are a professional poker player and earn a lot of money. Otherwise, I would recommend getting a job.

I study for maybe one hour a week. I play for 2-3 hours a day while working on other online tasks.
You can do that without being distracted? I am noticeably better when I focus solely on the game, dull thought that can be.

Some days are different from others. Sometimes, I can play for up to 10 hours, and sometimes it's hard to find even an hour of free time. It all depends on work. But overall, I think I play at least 25-30 hours a week.

I used to play 4-6 fast 6-max tables at my peak "pro career" online (2003-20013). Now I just play 1-3 tables of very low stakes or freerolls for fun and relaxation. In especially the Replay freerolls, the players are so SLOW that I can almost take a nap between the hands. I'm not 100% concentrated on the game, of course - but I'm not grinding online for money anymore. Besides that, the games are MUCH harder over 10NLH - in sweden, we don't get any rakeback, bonuses, or other free stuff on the licensed sites, so I don't feel like giving them my business just to earn maybe a couple of hundred dollars a month.

I try to stay a maximum of 8 hours a day (of course if I get a straight this increases), but on the weekend this increases a lot because there are more opportunities.

Thank you. It's been 4-5 years, probably.

The optimal number of poker hours weekly depends on your goals, skill level, and mental stamina. For serious improvement, many pros suggest between 15 and 25 focused hours of play, complemented by study and review. Overextending sessions can cause fatigue, tilt, and poor decisions, while too little practice slows progress. Balancing live or online play with strategy analysis, hand reviews, and mental conditioning ensures steady growth. Quality and focus of play matter more than raw hours, and regular breaks help maintain consistency and long-term results without burning out or harming your bankroll.

I play about 5 hours a day. I rarely play longer than that because I almost never have time for it. On weekends, I can play up to 10 hours.

I play poker after work, about three hours a day. In my opinion, three hours is enough to keep myself in shape, but not enough to develop and improve my skills.

I usually play poker for about 2–3 hours a day, mostly focusing on freerolls and low-stakes tournaments. Also I try to review key hands after each session to learn from my mistakes. Balance is important—too much play without study can lead to repeating errors, and too much study without play makes it hard to apply what I've learned :):):)

It really depends on my goals and schedule. On average, I spend about 1–3 hours a day studying or playing poker, but some days it’s more, especially if I’m preparing for a tournament or reviewing hands. I try to balance actual play with study—analyzing previous sessions, reading strategy articles, or watching high-level games. For me, consistency is more important than long hours; even short, focused daily practice helps improve skills over time without leading to burnout. Poker is as much a mental discipline as a card game, so managing time wisely is key to long-term success.

A couple of hours - enough to stay sharp without burning out.

I think it's important to not play when you're not feeling your best. I've had days in the past where I've thought 'tomorrow I'm going to play 8-10 hours'. But then tomorrow comes and you wake up feeling under the weather, cold, upset stomach or even if something like if you've had an argument irl say with a friend / family member / ex etc. Never works out well if you don't feel 100%.

I mostly play freerolls until I get bored. Of course, it's a penny in terms of money, but you can't lose yours. In fact, if a tournament catches on and you reach the final table, I can play until morning.
