Totally agree! Poker really sharpens your decision-making, patience, and reading people - it trains your mind in a way few games do.

Yes, poker is a very intelligent game. But not everyone has the time or interest to play it.

I like to play poker, so far I haven't felt any change, a while ago I've heard from other people that poker improves our minds, to solve mathematical problems.

During the game, we definitely force our brain to work more actively, which in turn leads to improved logical and analytical thinking, and this can have a positive impact on our personal lives.

It's also important to focus on improving your own poker thinking. For this reason, it's important to understand what's commonly understood by this term, how to correctly evaluate your opponent's hand range, and how to apply this information in practice, directly during the game.

Any training helps improve skills... And poker gives us the opportunity to see our cause-and-effect relationships in the light of relativity and motivating probability.

I think you’re exaggerating. Yes, poker helps develop things like patience and reading opponents’ behavior, but so does any mental exercise — for example, logic games or timed games where you have to solve tasks quickly under pressure.

I think poker does improve thinking, but not magically. It teaches you how to make decisions with incomplete information and how to stay calm when outcomes are uncertain.
For me, the biggest lesson was accepting that a good decision can still have a bad result and that doesn’t mean the thinking was wrong. That mindset helps not only in poker, but in real life too.

It teaches emotional control. Bad beats happen, variance is real, and if you can’t handle that at the table, you won’t handle pressure well anywhere else. Players who’ve put in real volume tend to stay calmer and more analytical in life in general.

To play poker or not to play — that’s the question, haha. Poker is a lot of fun, but it’s also very mentally demanding, so deciding whether to play or not can be complicated.

In fact, there is a fairly large proportion of players who don't want to think. They play poker and try to guess rather than think. For such players, poker will definitely not be a brain trainer, rather, poker will become an intuition trainer for them.

Like any intellectual game, poker develops the mind and thinking.

There have been studies suggesting that people who play poker have a lower risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease later in life.

Poker is a game that stimulates the mind because it combines strategy, probability calculation, emotional control, and the ability to interpret other people. Playing it develops a more analytical and creative way of thinking that helps in making better decisions in different aspects of life.

Poker is a nice game to play . Have fun , test your skills , go after your luck , test your mind state and focus and good thinking process . But of course you still need a lot of luck in order to win , good thinking is not enough .

In poker, when someone wins it is because someone else was defeated. That's the main thought. There is no room for romanticism, you either win or lose. Other than that, these are just speculations.

I agree. Poker really trains your mind — you learn to think in probabilities, manage risk, and make decisions with incomplete information. It also teaches emotional control, which is useful far beyond the table.

Even if someone never plays seriously, the thinking skills poker develops can be applied to many areas of life.

Teljesen egyetértek! A póker valóban élesíti a döntéshozatalt, a türelmet és az emberek olvasását - olyan módon edzi az elmét, ahogyan azt kevés játék teszi.
It requires a certain affinity and openness. And it should be taken seriously, and then it can be considered a higher level.
