I love the fact that you are free to play a hand any way you want to play it. If you want to fold, call, or raise a pot it is your right. As a teacher used to say to me is "Take your power" in all the options in playing a hand. So remember that if you like to play a hand or not play a hand take your power it is your choice and no one else's but your own. That is what I love about poker.

I love the process of learning, of trying to get better. I even love being mad at myself for playing bad and then trying to figure out how to play better in the scenario next time!

The most important thing is victory, we all love it). For example, winning a hand where you made a lot of chips is much better than when everyone folded their cards

I love and hate the fact any two cards can win! I love the fact that you could win a lot of money with little investment!

Poker is the best thinking game there is. In my opinion, of course. Chess is a thinking game but for me it has no creativity to it. Oh I know chess lovers will tell me I couldn't be more wrong, but again, it's just my opinion. I grew up playing a lot more chess than poker, in fact I played almost no poker at all until my adult years. Chess never held my interest like poker does, because in poker, I have to constantly use my brain to strategize and adapt to table conditions. Poker is like a puzzle that never ends and you never fall into a rut because of the constant adjustments required to adapt to a table of tight players one tournament and then adapt to a table of loose aggressive players in the next one. I love thinking games, and I honestly cannot name a better one than my beloved poker. The fact you can win money playing poker is a secondary aspect for me (it's the primary aspect for almost all poker players of course). I have always played poker because I love to play poker. It's why I use the play chips on poker stars where my US government has otherwise banned its citizens from playing. They still are the best poker site by far, and damn it, I'm still gonna play there even its only with play chips. It's good poker on there, despite what many people think about play chip poker. Money isn't everything. :)

I love turning it from gambling and luck to outwitting your opponent and strategizing and succeeding based on your skills. Poker is like more fun chess with the prospect of making money for me. Plus when you hit your hand on a calculated risk that was worth taking its such a good feeling like "yeah I knew what I was doing" but not really lol.

I love and hate the fact any two cards can win!

Yes we all understand this point. :) And we all hate it too. hahaha

But I always remind people of this fact: If the best hand preflop always held up, the game of poker would be such a boring game that nobody would play it. Everybody would just sit and wait for the premium hands and fold everything else, and that is a terrible formula if you want a fun and exciting game!

So always remember when you are cursing that lucky player who sucked out on you... if that never happened, there wouldn't be any game of poker... so you should be very thankful when you lose like that. hahahahaha

If you can understand this concept, you are well on your way to conquering your emotions which is what holds so many people back at the game... they can't get over their anger and frustration. I used to be that way too, but over the years I have learned to embrace the statistical variance, because that is what makes poker the fun game that it obviously is. If it wasn't fun, we wouldn't keep coming back every day to play it. :) Enjoy!!

I love poker, but the most interesting thing in the game for me is unpredictability

I actually made fun of a co-worker who played poker during the golden days, because I called it gambling, meanwhile on TV people were making 400K a month hahaha thats how stupid I was back then to the game. (around 2006) I played Zynga for bs laughs from around 2009-2011..then didnt play again until around 2016 when bored..still played zynga for years, actually didnt start taking the game serious until 2018.

Imagine if I invested my energy in the game during the hay-day instead of laughing at it?

I was too busy being a television news photographer ..which had its own level of merit..and respect in a whole other field.

Still, I would or rather of invested my time not laughing at "gamblers" and got into the action.

Still, I had many moments in the field, I would not trade for millions of dollars...so it all evens out. And here we are, testing bluffing theories in freerolls at poker:)

I like to compete with other players, mental games. In freerolls, everything is more simple or too desperate, players either play too much open or bluff too much. In games at higher limits, opponents are already showing their skills and ingenuity. It's rare to see creativity in its purest form, but this is a great moment when you face your opponent and try to get to know him and his real thoughts.

The emotion and excitment of the game is excellent. I remember a hand I played on my last FT live. I was in middle postion with AA. No action before blinds 4K and 8K. I raised to 30K. The guy next called. the guy on the bottom raised to 120K.
I shoved ALL IN. The guy next to me folded and the bottom called.
On showdown he had KK and I won the hand becoming chip leader.
It was a great feeling.
Other great moment is when you get the nuts on the river, a flush for example and the pot is big. It is super.
It is a great game and every hand is a different story and anything can happen.
Cheers,
M.D.
