Hello! I enjoy playing No Limit Hold'em. It's a popular form of poker and a great way to get started with the game. The simple rules and strategy based on open cards do make decision-making a bit easier. There are other types of poker games that are played at a single table, not in a tournament format, such as Draw Poker, 2-7 Triple Draw, and Stud. These games, in my opinion, are more suited for cash games where most of the cards are hidden, and you build your strategy based on your own cards and observations of other players. They can be interesting, but I understand that you may not have time to delve deeper into them at the moment. It's great that you came across these games while playing in a league. One of the first poker books you read, "Super System" by Doyle Brunson, covers these games as well. Although you initially skipped the chapters unrelated to Hold'em, you're now rereading the book and finding it valuable. Also, I appreciate pokerstars for offering games with play money, as it provides an opportunity for practice. I believe that over time, you'll expand your range of games, but for now, focusing on No Limit Hold'em .

I like Texas Holden, I don't know if it's a variant... but I like Texas Holden Knockout this variant is really cool and having the chance to eliminate someone and win, so I think it's great.

The ones I like the most are Texas and Omaha, I like Texas because anything can happen pre flop, I like it because everyone has an average to good game all the time and the pots are huge

Favourite variant is No Limit Holdem , I think it's because I first learned this game , only this I could watch on TV poker series being promoted , when I started playing it , it seemed easier in comparison to other variants like pot limit Omaha

I also like razz , horse or 8 game , but only for fun , very rarely I play them

I play Pl08 the most, also love Stud8, HORSE, Badugi, also like Razz etc. NLHE is way down the list for me so it's not even on my list of faves ... I like Pl08 for cash games and tournaments for the simple reason I find the game interesting in terms of odds and outs and the huge pots you can build from those chasing half the pot👍

Most of all, I love Texas Hold'em, especially the format of tournaments with simple prizes for placing, no awards for knockouts, etc. - in this form I feel as confident as possible, I play without unnecessary risks and clearly see my goal.

It's hard for me to choose a better variant than holdem because I've played only once the Omaha and I really don't like it, so I prefer Texas holdem

While I don't play it much nowadays, if there was to be only one variant available it should be seven card stud. In my opinion it is the most challenging because of it's complexity due to: more cards in play, five betting rounds, all of your cards are different than the ones your opponent(s) holds, each player has three unknown cards, to play well you have to also remember the cards that have been folded, and it increases the possibilities for effective bluffing. All in all it makes for a more interesting and exciting game

PS - Another reason is that I'm a very sentimental and have been playing this, known to my father as "Seven Toed Pete", for over fifty eight years. :)
Here in NC a long time ago, before Texas Hold'em became popular there was a version of 7 Stud that was played in the "outlaw" poker houses.
It was called Seven Card Dark Secret and all of the cards were face down. So only you saw your cards and you had not a clue what your opponents had other than observing them and reacting to the way they bet.
There was an ante an you got 4 cards. the first person to left of dealer started the bet with $1 with 3 raises available. If he could not bet he had to fold-no checking in this game.
The 5th card was dealt and the 2nd player to the dealers left was under the gun for $2-3 raises available
The 6th card was dealt and the 3rd player to the dealers left was under the gun for $3-3 raises available
The 7th card was dealt and the 4th player to the dealers left was under the gun for $4-3 raises available

Due to no face up cards hence the name "Dark Secret" and the no checking rule this game tended to have some rather large pots and you had to be good at observing your opponents.

There was also a $10 to $40 game that was played. I ran a gas station for a man named "Ted" who drove a red Corvette and tried to play this game with the big boys. I would be taking in money at the gas station and here would come Ted. He would pull up and jump outta that Corvette and go in and pull the handle and the bell would ring and he would go in the cash register and there I was running the store with the ones and change left in the register. Needless to say, it didn't take long for Ted to go broke.

Which is your favorite poker variant, and why? If your favorite is not Texas Hold'em, why do you think your chosen variant is better?

Texas Hold'em.

It was the first one I had contact with and dedicated my studies to.

As I was too lazy to delve into the others, I rarely venture into other variations.

Everything is quite simple for me. I mostly play freerolls. Our community provides us with a great opportunity to play freerolls and increase our bankroll without any risk. Therefore, it is obvious that my favorite version of poker is NL Texas Hold'em, since the majority, or rather 95% of all our freerolls, are from this type of poker.

NLHE 9-Max is still the most popular game, it is spacious, dramatic and is the standard for many tournaments.

My favourite has to be short deck. Always action and if you’re prone to self destruction it’s perfect!! Why does something so tilting have to be so fun?!!
