Staying Motivated on the Poker Grind

Hope you're all doing great at the tables. Lately, I’ve been focusing on improving my game and staying more consistent with my decisions. Poker is always a learning journey, and I really appreciate all the advice and discussions here on CardsChat.

How’s your grind going? Any recent hands, wins, or moments you’re proud of?

Hello! well, recently i don't play often, but trying to not miss freerolls. Now i look to my poker hand history and analyze hands. Gl Gl on the weekend grind!

Not only is poker a constant learning process, but life itself is. I haven't been doing very well at poker lately. I haven't managed to win a single tournament, but I'm persistent.

My routine is focused on improving the mental side of my game. I’ve started doing daily meditation and reviewing my sessions without being too hard on myself. Recently I had a tough session, but I still managed to stay calm and finish in the green. That emotional control has been my biggest recent achievement.

So far I’ve been playing all kinds of formats with mixed success. Due to my current life situation, I don’t have much time for MTTs anymore, so I’m shifting my focus to cash games and investing my time there with structured learning and analysis. That’s also why I started a challenge here on the CardsChat forum, to stay consistent and accountable.

I think for me it means always being able to reach the ITM, not always scoring or placing in the first places, but being consistent in arriving the awards has motivated me a lot, especially to correct mistakes so as not to repeat them again!

Just accept its rigged. Math is worth f#ck nothing at online poker... Don't frustrate yourself thinking it will be the legit experience, it won't.

A poker player must constantly adapt to the game; to do this, we must follow the best players of today and analyze their hands whenever possible.

What helps me stay motivated is treating poker like a real job. Every day is a new opportunity to improve, study, and get better. I focus on what I can control — my concentration, discipline, and preparation. When I stay consistent with my routine and don’t chase short-term results, motivation comes naturally.
