TUESDAY POKER ACTION: PPA has an all-new Take Action page. Let's all join in.

**** Tuesday #Fight4Poker ****

• The House Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on HR 707 / RAWA, the bill to ban Internet #poker nationwide, on Thursday at 9:30 am. We NEED to tell the committee members to OPPOSE this bill! PPA created a new action page and has made it easy. Contact all committee members in just a few minutes. (There are 17 total recipients. I recommend sending 8 or 9 tweets, then waiting a few minutes before sending the rest):
http://theppa.org/fight-hr707

• Let’s tweet & favorite pro-poker messages in reply to lawmaker tweets. Either write your own reply (best) or copy & paste one of the following examples (but try to edit even these a bit):
- Please oppose HR 707, a bill that strips states of their #TenthAmendment right to authorize online poker.
- For consumer protection, mandated age verification & liberty, please support the right of states to authorize online poker.
- Congress rejected instate online poker bans in '06. HR 707 restores nothing. It's a new ban. Please oppose HR 707.

Hey I've been doing the daily action plan and I usually just get a generic thank "you for contacting" response from everyone, but I actually got a legit response from Elizabeth Warren and wanted to share it with you guys:

Dear Ken,

Thank you for contacting me about the regulation of online gambling and Internet poker.

As you may know, under the Department of Justice's current interpretation of federal law, any form of gambling -- including Internet poker -- is illegal if it involves bets moving across state lines. Several state legislatures have considered proposals to legalize and regulate Internet poker within their borders, and at the federal level, bills have been introduced in the House of Representatives that would allow Internet poker to varying extents. I will keep your thoughts in mind as I evaluate these proposals and any that may be introduced in the Senate.

I appreciate your reaching out to me about this issue, and I hope you will contact my office again in the future about issues of importance to you or if I can be of any assistance.

Sincerely,

Signature

Elizabeth Warren
United States Senator
