Thanks GJS!
I would be happy to get involved with the campaign in more significant way. I am well trained at writing legislation that we could bring to US and State officials and ask them to sponser. Also, a PAC (Political Action Committee) can be formed to lobby for the cause and I would love to help challenge bans on poker under most State laws. It looks like you have been built a great grass roots following, now is the time to start growing and expanding. Getting some run time on ESPN during airings of the WSOP and on other networks, building a network that can put political pressure on lawmakers and courts and bringing in other groups, such as the libertarians to help support the cause. Please let me know how I can help.
Thanks OneCoolHand. We can always use more help.
We have a PAC called PokerPAC. And, we have a pro-poker bill in Congress. It's HR 2888, sponsored by Rep. Joe Barton. We have bills in CA and PA right now as well. We don't have funding for for ESPN commercials, but we do often have litigation at the state level, including last week's Wisconsin case.
We have good support from libertarian and conservative think tanks and activist groups. In fact, Ron Paul will be back on my webcast Tuesday evening.
Please PM me with contact info. Again, we always need great volunteers!
